Does it get easier? I’m on 3 years next month. I haven’t been on here in a while bc of all the gloom and doom, but I don’t feel it’s gotten much easier. I just got on an anti anxiety med. (here comes the banter about ototoxicity)

Slowly Losing Everything Due to Tinnitus and Hyperacusis

@TinaRuns, I think you’re even overthinking the treadmill… honestly just live your life and unless a fire alarm doesn’t go off directly in your ear most things are ok. I go to bars. I don’t wear earplugs. Sick of living my life like this and not feeling ‘normal.’

Slowly Losing Everything Due to Tinnitus and Hyperacusis

@TinaRuns, just run. You’ll be fine. I love running and I started again. Running won’t affect tinnitus and those that think it does - did it ever occur that this is probably PSYCHOLOGICAL?

Noise-Induced Tinnitus; Years of Headphone Use

I’m 17 months in, not sure why the hell I got this. I’m assuming it’s noise induced since I’ve had every test done. I suppose after time it gets slightly easier. I’ve been having a louder week (stress?) which makes those dark thoughts come creeping back in... but I have to force myself to stay...

To Whomever Needs Some Words of Hope — Tinnitus Is Only a Noise

No, I hate it. I hate having ringing in my ears. June 1 it has been 16 months and I’m not mildly habituated, I’ve just been trying to ignore it the best I can. I hope the travel helps, I feel like such an unstable wreck.

Brittany95 it’s all awful. I don’t know what I did, or what anyone did, to deserve this. When I think realistically I don’t think I’ll have this forever but I’m almost 16 months in and it’s still here. Did I mess up my ears that bad? I don’t know... just wish it would stop :( I want my life back!

Brittany95 I hear a lot about reactive tinnitus/hyperacusis pretty much being the same. I’ve been dealing with this for 15 months. June 1 will be 16. No, just completely miserable and wanting to get out of this living hell. Going on vacation in August so I really want this to be gone by then. I’m flying so I’m nervous, and I’ll be out of the country. I wasn’t going to travel but then I was like I can’t let this hold me back... How are you?

17 Years Old, Unknown Cause, I Woke Up with a Loud Ringing in My Left Ear

My Ear Ringing Is Never a Single Tone...

It's hard to tell if it's getting better when it doesn't stop. Lately it's been switching from ear to ear. I don't know. There's not much I can do anyway so I'm trying not to get so upset over it, it's out of my control.

My Ear Ringing Is Never a Single Tone...

A doctor gave me Klonopin but I only took it once. I was on quite the concoction when this happened due to anxiety from it all, (Ativan, Valium, sleeping meds) and I don’t want to keep putting this stuff in my body. So I don’t take anything anymore, plus a lot of that stuff is actually ototoxic...

I Don’t Know What to Do Anymore: I'm Now in a Psychiatric Hospital and Tinnitus Is Crushing Me

You shouldn’t want a single tone. Single tones are not good, they don’t show the capability to change or go away. Any fluctuation and change in tinnitus is good, it shows that it can go away. If you had a solid “EEEEE” it would be very concerning...

Tinnitus 90% Gone After 6 Months

Don’t believe this nonsense about ringing - buzzing - hissing - silence. In my opinion it’s nonsense and completely made up. Not one doctor has said that that’s how an ear heals. So I’m not sure who came up with it but I wouldn’t believe it.

My Tinnitus Went Away! It Does Go Away

@Bill Bauer according to an ENT at YALE, one of the best doctors in the country that I just saw, the condition is known to completely go away, but after one year it is less likely. The doctor said she has seen it go away 100% for people but pops back up due to stress/anxiety.
