I take pretty much the same. 400 mg Gabapentin 2 times a day 15 mg Buspar 2 times a day 15 mg Mirtazapine This combo has actually helped me and reduced my tinnitus a bit.

No spike on my end. It might be because you are expecting a change. I would stick with for a few weeks at least.

Looks like Nebivolol also increases my tinnitus. 6th day on and my tinnitus has increased. Anyone have luck with ACE inhibitors? Looks like beta blockers don't work for me. Any insight would be appreciated.

Damn it. Metoprolol increases my tinnitus. Oh well, I can check that off the list. Nebivolol next.

Sorry for the delay. I personally would take it a while longer and see if symptoms improve. If not, then stop. If you can't take it, then personally I would taper off over 2-4 weeks. At least you know you tried it and it didn't work for you. One more thing you can check off the list.

Anyone else have experience taking Metoprolol? Did it spike your tinnitus? I started on a low dose, 12.5 mg, today. I think it's my anxiety playing tricks on me... My tinnitus went up 15 minutes after taking it. If it does increase my tinnitus I might have to try Nebivolol.

I couldn't take any pills because that definitely made my tinnitus rage but but now I tried non-fat Yakult drinks.

Probiotics make my tinnitus rage for some reason. I just did test these past couple of days with a probiotic and my tinnitus jumped.

Gabapentin has helped me over the past year but I feel as though I've developed a tolerance to it. I take 400 mg twice a day. I don't want to increase any further as I'm scared of the withdrawal once I come off of it.

I take Mirtazapine and it actually lowered my tinnitus. Maybe give it a couple or days to adjust? Could be anxiety playing tricks on you. If you can handle it, give it a few days and if it's still spiking, then I would stop.

It does help with anxiety. It's helped mine. Also helps with sleep on low doses.

A lot less zombie compared to other meds. I found Buspar to be one of the safer anxiety meds in terms of side effects.

Not sure if my tinnitus improved but rather maybe I was able to deal with it better and ignore it because I was better able to keep my anxiety in check.

I feel your pain bro. Try Mirtazapine. It might help you sleep. Anxiety and sleep is the best solution. It won't cure tinnitus but rather help you manage it better.

Buspar takes several weeks to work. Its great for generalized anxiety. Doesn't take it all away but enough to function.

I was diagnosed with the same. I take 25 mg of HCTZ. It's helped. Maybe 50% improvement. It's sad because I might have to stop because I could have gout. They are doing blood tests to determine. You should know within a few days if it helps.

For me they put me on HCTZ. It's a blood pressure/diuretic. It's worked fairly well. I would say my tinnitus is 50% lower than it first started. I've read lots of articles that say hydrops is a precursor to get Meniere's disease while others say it's completely separate.

I take Mirtazapine as well and have been having eye issues. Are you sure the Mirtazapine caused your eye issues? From what I've read a high % of people with visual snow also have tinnitus. Maybe it's not the Mirtazapine? Maybe it is?

I would comment that it sometimes takes weeks to feel the effect or certain meds. Natural way is the best. It's a numbers game. The risk of tinnitus increasing from certain meds is low. I get when you have tinnitus, even a 1% chance of it increasing is a huge risk we aren't willing to take but...

Good question. I would say it is related because of the timing but then I would also say it might not be related as we eat a lot of food with salicylates in them.

I took Cialis once after I got tinnitus. My tinnitus went through the roof. Once Cialis left my system, the tinnitus stabilized. Please note my tinnitus is probably due to medications and I'm very sensitive to meds. Hope this helps.
