Yes, I hear you Gordon. Mine is the same ultra-shrill tone. I agree, it is like it was specifically designed for torture. I am almost 8 weeks into this now. It has to improve for us somehow!!!

@DingDong How are you feeling now? Did the withdrawal symptoms from the Prednisone improve? I just took some Prednisone 5 weeks post Acoustic Trauma (I know, silly idea). But I was desperate since my tinnitus is so bad and the ENT said it may still help. I knew it wasn’t a good drug for me...

Yes! I have exactly this. I can’t even listen to music without it sounding tinny/metallic. Is there any chance this will improve?

@Thuan How is your electric buzz sound? I have same thing night and day (sometimes more of a hiss or a dog whistle sound-it’s horrid). No success stories on this frequency??

Ok interesting. I am worried since I didn’t have any positive changes in the first month. In fact, I had a spike at the 4 week mark where it got louder and it hasn’t decreased since. I hope that doesn’t mean there is no chance for my recovery. :( I’m so glad you’re improving. :)

I really wish it hadn’t spiked up 4 days ago. I was adjusting a tiny bit, then it got so much louder after that girl screamed at the pool.

@PeteJ I actually like being out there because it blends with all the crazy noises in my ear. Pure silence is the worst. I don’t think 55 dB can be harmful.

@brownear Thank you for your reply. That is amazing that you have come so far. It is so hard to imagine living with this and feeling joy again (or even sleeping normally), but I know it must be possible. Stories like yours really help!
