I've been back to the docs who has actually prescribed me a steroid nasal spray. She asked if I've been using a decongestant spray (which up to this point, I've been confusing the two!)
Decongestant spray can do more harm than good in the long run, she said it's more of a quick fix thing...
Thanks for reply, I too have had on/off ETD trouble.
I am sometimes able to make my left ear pop, but no often - I've been back to the Doctors yesterday and was prescribed a steroid nasal spray.
So I shall be using that as I was told to, she said for about 4 weeks?
Then of no improvement...
Our health is indeed the most important factor! In regards to playing, I'm pleased that you think you'll be able to continue to play, I really hope you can. I enjoyed watching that performance you posted :)
I vow I will never hang the guitar up for good, but my gigging days are over.
I can...
@Jazzer
I've very much in the same boat as you, I've been in few bands in the past, but recently had to call it quits on a little jam session that me and some friends would gather in a studio for.
I've been playing guitar for most of my life and It's heart breaking to know that T is going to...
Hi all,
I've recently had some issues with fluid in the ears - underwater feeling, humming noises.... etc. As well as sore feeling in the ear.
I've been to the doctors who has given me an ear spray.
It's been more or less three weeks now, the right ear has cleared... but my left ear feels...
It's weird for me, sometimes I can quite easily and other times it's blocked.
I've recently had (and still on going) ETD, but when I fully had it, I couldn't unblock at all.
Exactly what I've been feeling!
My left ear still feels blocked, but the hum has gone, thankfully! However, it's replaced by an on/off static hissy noise - so when my left ear eventually unclogs, it goes away. It sure is taking it's time though, sometimes just feels like I'm wearing an...
I'm aware of nasal sprays and use it sparingly.
As I say, the underwater sensation has gone for both ears - it's the left that still feeling a bit blocked. I don't get any autonomy and I cycle quite a bit.
My left ear sometimes feels like it wants to clear? Are you getting that, too? Ears...
@Carlos1 Thanks bud, just got to try and ride it out.
Is it slightly odd to prefer to hear my existing T in the other ear, over the new hum in the right ear?
Maybe because I'm used to it!
So are there any fellow petrolhead and car lovers on here?
Impreza's are my thing, I've had two of them. Currently got a '02 WRX Bugeye. Hayward & Scott exhaust system to unleash the boxer rumble a little bit more, not much else done it really.
That's actually my second Scooby, had a WRX...
Setters!
We've always had them, we've got a Gordon Setter now, Gracie, who's soon to be 10!
There was another Gordon before her, Brucie.
And them prior to our Gordons, it's been Irish Setters - had 4 of them at one point :)
The underwater type sound appears to have gone, but my left ear is still feeling little dull.
But the humming sound seems to come and go and then die down a bit.
However, I've woken up this morning with the him quite loud and a dull sensation in the ear..
Guess I've still got a quite a while...
Thanks for the reply.
I have been trying decongestant nasal sprays and taking Sudafed Sinus, but it is taking a while.
Haven't tried inhaling steam, I'll try that tonight.
As for allergies - I've had symptoms of what I've got now of varying degrees.... I'm not allergic to anything, that I know...
Hi all,
Over the past week, I have experienced a sense of fullness/underwater sensation, feelings of clogged ears and sometimes feels a little wet?
I've been to the docs and she has said I have fluid behind the eardrum and my left ear is looking a little sore.
The doc has prescribed me a...
Eustachian tubes - that's them!
Good to know these are ok, I'll do the full course and see how I go.
Sorry to hear about the cold, I'm convinced i'm going the same way, because the sore throat is still kicking about.
Thanks, Glynis! I'll try that one.
An update - Decided to go to a walk in clinic and wait, saw the GP who prescribed me some Amoxicillin?
He looked in my ear, couldn't see anything wrong - I was hoping he would.
But anyway, I'll be taking these for now.
I did ask about Ototoxins, these are ok according to him.
Also, he did...
Thanks for those links, will be reading up. Even with T for a number of years, It's good to learn something new.
You're right, can't help but worry about it, just trying to crack on regardless.
And that's good to hear (no pun intended :p) I think patience is key here, until I can get to the...
Hi Steve, thanks for the reply.
Yep that makes sense, will get myself to the docs next Tuesday, as being bank holiday I'll just have to stick it out.
It just worries me that it's affecting the T that I already have, and that I'm hoping that when my ears clear, the noise will settle back down...
Hello all!
Firstly, I've T for a few years now and learnt to live with it, but have periods of it becoming louder or "episodes" of it flaring up, but otherwise it's been ok. It's mainly in my left ear.
But this new problem started yesterday...
Only started in my right ear - It started with...
