Steroids: Prednisone / Dexamethasone / Others (Oral and Intratympanic Injections)

Been on Prednisone for over a year. Granted it was not begun when the tinnitus first started but it surely didn't change anything. Perhaps it made it even worse. I've had tinnitus since around 1990. I gave "Tranquil Ear" (found on Amazon) a shot for a month and it did absolutely nothing so...

Tranquil Ear Supplement for Tinnitus — Any Reviews?

Barbara, I'm not far from you! I live in Armonk in Westchester County. Once I could "hear a pin drop!" I wish you a pleasant day as well. It's getting very humid. I will keep everyone posted especially if I can rate it even three stars. Here's to tranquility! Viviennne

Tranquil Ear Supplement for Tinnitus — Any Reviews?

Thanks for responding. I've only taken one capsule of Tranquil Ear thus far. I'm always scared of a new medication because I get a-fib and anything that affects my heart I try to avoid. Seems that this is pretty safe stuff with mostly vitamins and minerals. I've had tinnitus for over 25 years...

Tranquil Ear Supplement for Tinnitus — Any Reviews?

Has anyone tried Tranquil Ear? I found it on Amazon and read all the reviews. Seems that some at least felt a relief in the volume. If you've tried it, for better or worse, I'd love to hear from you.

ESIT — Landmark Partnership Between the Patient and Research Community

I don't understand the point of white noise and would love to have someone explain it to me. Whether the noise is internal in my brain or external coming through my ears, the sound is the same. If I make it loud enough to mask the tinnitus, it's equally annoying? I've tried listening to one...

Tinnitus and Listening to White Noise — How Does It Make One Feel Comfortable?

Can someone please explain how white noise helps one feel more comfortable. I've tried listening to it and all it does is mimic what I hear 24/7. Only difference is that it's not coming from my head, it's coming from my ears and certainly not masking, just doubling down on the hissing. Am I...

New Member, Tinnitus Since April 2017

I listened to that very long lead up to the promotion of Quiet Mind Plus. It mentions that Tinnitus can be a sign of Alzheimers, memory loss, Parkinson's and all kinds of other terrible conditions/diseases. Is there any proof of this being true? I found this group while Googling that product...

In my humble opinion, you should get an MRI of your head to rule out anything more dangerous (which you probably do NOT have). Always better to be safe as there are more sinister things that can cause our affliction

Tinnitus Since 1995, Could It Be Inherited?

That's what we need to keep, a sense of humor. I'm new on this blog but have read such horror stories that it makes me think that I'm getting off easy. If it get worse; however, at least I'm in good very supportive company. Thanks for your help.

Tinnitus Since 1995, Could It Be Inherited?

Thank you for responding so quickly. That is so interesting and unexpected that they didn't find that Tinnitus is inherited. I was always so sure that it was "all my Dad's fault!"

Tinnitus Since 1995, Could It Be Inherited?

So happy to have found this blog! I'm 76 (female) and have had Tinnitus for a very long time. I'm wondering if anyone else can attribute the miserable condition to heredity? My father had it badly and my brother and sister have it. I have not seen anything like this mentioned. I noticed...
