Cause of Tinnitus
I think symptoms started years back. Headaches
Hi
I'm a new member age 44, married with 4 children. I started experiencing this non stop sound 4/2017. A lot of stress during this time. I have been having headaches daily for a couple of months. Started taking Tylenol every day. My family was experiencing flu like symptoms. I was just popping these Tylenol everyday.

However I believe I started some time back, I just believe the fuse finally went out. I remember last year around april, things started spinning, and my ears kept becoming very full when I would stand up. Also after listening to ear plugs music, I would really experience this fullness in my ears. I believe my poor ear canal could not take any more. One day I heard a sound like something went out in my left year. And that's when this really started this noise 24/7.

This is the weirdest thing I have ever experienced in my life. You get other ailments but they go away.

However this has been non stop, and that I don't understand. Feels like I'm walking to one side sometimes. Feel like I want to fall forward. It's like spinning around, and you stop all of a sudden, that's how I feel when walking sometimes. These doctors so educated, but they don't know anything about this, shame on them

Yes these symptoms sound like Vertigo. I am not a doctor BUT I got Vertigo last March while visiting my son in El Salvador. We were at a high altitude hiking in the mountains. It was very hot and I was not drinking enough water. Needless to say I got Vertigo. If I moved my head left or right I felt like I was going into a spin. When I got home my physical therapy Crossfit friend said I needed the Eply Maneuver done on me. She did this to me twice (google it) and my vertigo began to go away and in 3 weeks was cured however vertigo left me with Tinnitus which freaked me out for about a month until I have learned to manage it with white noise when I am in my quiet apartment and when I go to bed. I suggest looking into the Eply maneuver. There are you tube videos on how to do it but I suggest letting a physical therapist do it to you instead of doing the treatment yourself. Good luck!!

Possibly go see an ENT and see what they say. The spinning and non stop motions could be vertigo and the fullness in the ears could all be related. I got tinnitus when I had vertigo and an inner ear infection.

You possibly have a low level hiss tinnitus noise, just make sure to protect your ears and avoid loud places.

Be well....

If you have vertigo and tinnitus, then it is possible you have Meniere's disease. Have the doctor checked it all out. If you truly have MD, then @glynis can give you some good advice as she has good experience living with this condition. Take good care. God bless.

In my humble opinion, you should get an MRI of your head to rule out anything more dangerous (which you probably do NOT have). Always better to be safe as there are more sinister things that can cause our affliction

I listened to that very long lead up to the promotion of Quiet Mind Plus. It mentions that Tinnitus can be a sign of Alzheimers, memory loss, Parkinson's and all kinds of other terrible conditions/diseases. Is there any proof of this being true? I found this group while Googling that product and I'm glad I didn't order it.

No, I don't think it's an early sign. I think it's more coincidence. Many people with hearing loss have tinnitus. Hearing loss can often isolate people, and that together can contribute to memory loss and other concerns. Plus, those conditions are more common for the elderly, who also are more likely to have hearing loss and possibly tinnitus.

YIKES!!!!!!!! Hi again @Vivienne and New York neighbor - Alzheimers...... memory loss...... Parkinson's...... and other terrible stuff !!! When I heard that... even my tinnitus left my ears! So much of these ads are based on snake oil I think.. using scare tactics to sell their product so maybe it is for the best that you wound up here rather than purchasing that! I am very interested though to learn if you experience any decrease in your tinnitus using that Quiet Ear supplement. Take care.

Hi @Imhealedbyfaith - Welcome to this forum. I am sorry to learn you are experiencing these disturbing symptoms. You don't mention whether or not you have seen your doctor and if he has referred you to an ENT specialist who can diagnose your symptoms. I would suggest keeping track of each symptom you are experiencing and then relaying all the information to a doctor whom you feel is knowledgeable since as you mentioned... sadly, not all are. Try to do your best to keep calm and reduce your anxiety until you can make an appointment to get an assessment since, as we all know, stress can exacerbate any condition. If you are found to have Meniere's, then follow @billie48 suggestion and contact @glynis who will help you. I hope you will feel better soon.

Please keep us posted and let us know how you are doing.

Best wishes,
Barbara
