Ask your ENT for steroid injections. They may be able to help with any inflammation that may have been induced by the slap.

I think they are just crazy. Some of the guys are massive and one slap like those can produce brain traumatism. I saw one of those videos where the guys who probably make the money out of filming this crap were laughing their asses off about the contestants. It is just stupid.

This is why it's best to avoid most human interactions.

Usually most people who got tinnitus through hand-to-ear contact got it from a hard slap, usually from another party. I think you'll be fine the eardrum can flex a bit before being damaged, if you've ever been underwater several feet you'd get a similar feeling of pressure on your ear.

FYI: I'm not saying your problem isn't jaw related (a slap to the jaw seems relevant). But altering tinnitus with facial movement is extremely common, even with people who got it from noise trauma or something else.
