    I Just Can't Do It...

Wouldn't do any good, would it? I mean, compromised hearing would still be exposed to a dentist's drill via sound and vibrations.

How and Where to Clean Earwax Out of My Ear?

Maybe not the best idea, but I use wax-softening drops, and a few days later, I use a sanitized comedone removal tool (with a loop) to rake the wax out, as it usually settles in the bottom of the ear canal. I removed quite a bit of wax this way recently.

Does Noise-Induced Tinnitus Become Worse Over the Years?

Yes, it can get worse if you fail to protect your hearing. Been there, done that, unfortunately.

    Ear Congestion Lowers Tinnitus Sound?

Is that possible? Anyone ever experienced it? My tinnitus took a spike after using a bulb syringe *gently* to flush out some wax dissolving drops (done this before with no issues) a few weeks ago, but all of a sudden two nights ago, the sound began to drop dramatically. However, tonight, I am...

Is It Possible for One Excedrin Migraine Pill to Give Me a Giant Spike?

I'm not familiar with Excedrin, but if it has acetaminophen (Tylenol) in it, then, yes, it can bother your ears. Dr. Oz, with the help of hearing experts, has proven that acetaminophen is bad for the health of your ears. Over time, the drug strips away protective layers within the inner-ears...

Dental Work (Including Drilling) & Tinnitus — Questions and Experiences

Depends on how your tinnitus started. If your ears have suffered from acoustic trauma, then yes, it's possible that ultrasonic sound waves from the drill can cause further damage to your hearing. Wearing ear muffs may help some, but the real problem lies with bone-conducted sound waves. On the...

    Depakote (Valproate)

Bump. What's wrong with TSMB, anyway? You can't even have a decent discussion about tinnitus and its causes over there without being jumped on by a handful of know-it-alls. Especially if you mention anything about ototoxicity. Thank goodness it's not that way here.

    A Question of Religion...

I seen God heal many folks in my lifetime, so yes, he can heal. Divine healing comes from having a child-like faith. Sometimes, though, it's not easy for us grown folks to accept that kind of faith.

Ototoxic Drugs: Drugs That Cause Tinnitus

Believe it or not, Glipizide (diabetes drug) caused my initial tinnitus. I only took five pills, but I remember a distinct high-pitched ring, and some dizziness, while on the drug. A short time later, I developed a bi-lateral inner ear infection that resulted in tinnitus.

Ototoxic Drugs: Drugs That Cause Tinnitus

Dr. Oz had a report on Tylenol (acetaminophen) ototoxicity last year. He said that over time, Tylenol can strip away the protection from your ears and damage them in the long run. The last time I took a Tylenol, my right ear shorted out briefly (like a bad speaker connection). No more Tylenol...

    Ear Plugs in the Shower

I tried water proof earplugs once, and they tended to bottle up noise of water hitting my ears, etc. Instead of plugs, I do not let the direct force of the shower head blast into my ear. I hold my hand against the flow and let water trickle onto my ears as best as I can.

Very much so, although I think I have already posted about it already. I only consumed about 4mg, and it would seem that small of a dose would be like urinating in the ocean, but that amount of Remeron was enough to put me asleep and damage my ears at the same time. The drug *is* known to...

I ran the gas powered string trimmer today, but I did not use the 25db noise reduction ear muffs. I only use a pair of soft foam ear plugs. My T is a bit amplified tonight, though it may be because I ate whitefish and marinated steak at a local restaurant. I am wondering if the whitefish was...

    Lawn Mowers & String Trimmers

Should Tinnitus Sufferers Worry About Paracetamol/Ibuprofen/Codeine?

That's not an easy question to answer. If your tinnitus is not related to ototoxic drugs or infection then I would assume at least 200mg would be safe to take. Tylenol is purportedly more ototoxic than ibuprofen.

Thanks, Markku. I am not feeling to well today after an unexpected spike. Sometimes, I wish I could go check in to the local hospital and stay awhile. It sure would be nice if *could* try an SSRI without fear of it doing more damage to my hearing.

    Temazepam

Yes, I've heard of what they can do if one develops dependency on benzos. I have tried Temazepam twice so far in the past three weeks. The 15mg dose I was given was not very sedating. I had to take half of a Unisom to knock me out. Temazepam also left me feeling a bit depressed.

    Temazepam

Actually, I did try Remeron back in December, and it damaged my hearing. When I awoke from sleep, my left ear was partially deaf with a roaring sound, and my right ear had suffered damage as well. To beat it all, I only ingested about 2mg of a 30 mg pill!
