Ringing in the New Year... God I Hope Not

Hello Richard- I'm sorry you've joined us here, but I'm glad you've reached out. I'm very new to T (everyone here just calls it 'T' and doesn't write out 'Tinnitus') myself and I'm just learning how to cope with it too. First: Don't panic, and don't despair. I know that's really easy for me to...

Deganwy Man James Ivor Jones Jumped to His Death After Being Told There Was No Cure for His Tinnitus

@valeri My apologies. I never intended any offense and, in hindsight, I see how what I said could be interpreted and insensitive. I really didn't mean to be unsympathetic to the man's suffering. I suppose I was trying to remind myself that what suffering I have with T is nothing compared to what...

Is Your Tinnitus a "Moving Target" Too?

My T seems to hop from one side of my head to another. It's very rarely one single sound in both ears at the same time. It'll buzz or ring in one ear for a few minutes and then jump over to my other ear for a few minutes with a new sound in a new pitch. Does anyone else have this kind of T too?

Deganwy Man James Ivor Jones Jumped to His Death After Being Told There Was No Cure for His Tinnitus

@Marjorie Lynne - I agree with you that there are much worse afflictions. I wanted to ask you what makes you believe there will soon be a cure, I'm just honestly curious. I'm new to T myself and I just wonder what you've experienced that makes you think a cure is coming soon. Thanks.

Is Habituation Possible When Tinnitus Is Unpredictable?

I understand from reading the forums that habituation occurs over time if your T is a steady, constant ring that never changes much. However, my T changes constantly in sound, pitch, and intensity in a completely unpredictable way. How is habituation going to be possible when my T is...

Deganwy Man James Ivor Jones Jumped to His Death After Being Told There Was No Cure for His Tinnitus

Heartbreaking. It chills me to the bone to think my T may ever get to that level. It's terrifying.

Invitation — To Long-Term Tinnitus or Hyperacusis Folks, Still Hurting, Suffering and "Silent"...

@Zimichael ... I just ran across this discussion for the first time this morning. I wish I would have seen it sooner. I haven't had T very long but it has already had some major impacts on my life and the feeling of isolation is probably the greatest change I'm learning to deal with. I would...

    Thankful

I just wanted to say that ever since I first experienced T, the worst part was the lonely feeling of suffering from something that not only can't been seen or heard by anyone else, but most people have never even heard of. This is really ironic since it seems to be such a common affliction that...

    New to "T"

Thanks to all of you for your responses and kindness. I am really going through a struggling period right now. The weekends are the worst, all I want to do is sleep. I feel completely wrought out and exhausted. I don't know what I would do without this forum and your advice and encouragement. I...

    New to "T"

My T just started about three weeks ago and I have been going out of my mind with fear and anxiety every minute since. I have no idea where this came from. I've never listened to much loud music, I don't spend much time around loud environments (I work in a quiet office) and I haven't had any...
