I think if one's T is caused by hearing loss then the restoration of hearing should change or stop his T as brain is plastic and it should re-adapt again.

Sorry to hear about that but on the positive side it also means your T still can be change and that Trobalt has effect on your T. Other treatment like AM101 also reportedly made T worse initially and eventually gets better and better than baseline after some time. Though, i would not continue...

Very much agree. In fact, i would believe the opinion of those who have tried Retigabine than someone who have never try it.

Some of our friends here who tried Retigabine experience changes to their T and the effect can be replicated if they take it again. How could that be placebo!?

From what i read, intratympanic steroid injection or oral steroid could be effective for acoustic trauma with hearing loss. Without hearing loss the chance might be lower but you need to try this asap from onset for the steroid to work.

Maybe you can try some natural anti inflammatory supplements like Curcumin, Quercetin, Bromelain, Pycnogenol?

Hi Kara, I know someone who had her T reduced significantly after few months of immunotherapy. From what I read your allergy will elevate when starting immunotherapy and then it will eventually lower after some time. Hope your T improve soon after the immunotherapy :)

That's T went into background but what i experience is a real significant reduce of volume. Like you go into a quiet room, try hard to listen to your T and find it barely audible.

I would guess that it work for Christian for the first few doses instead of placebo and then our brain's self correcting mechanism resisted the drug effect. So we need a stronger and more targeted drug to fool our brain like autiphony's :D

I think if there is treatment that could effectively and consistently reduce T volume even just temporary like a pain killer that's good enough, not necessary a cure. The problem with T is that there is no reliable control and that makes it so scary and unmanageable.

Thanks ben, very good read. Reasonably explains why Trobalt can still benefits T and yet not fully. It could well be that Kv3 channels are the root cause of all T regardless of etiologies. Noise trauma, injuries, blood circulation, TMJ and etc etc all ultimately lead to abnormal Kv3 channels...

Yes i just use the earplanes before the plane take off, remove it when the plane reach maximum cruising altitude which is when the safety belt can be remove and then wear it again about 1 hour before landing. For me, only yawning will affect my T. Manually moving my jaw, neck, eyes or anything else has no effect at all. I read that a yawn is a reflex of simultaneous inhalation of air and stretching of the eardrums. So i guess it's the stretching of the eardrums part that affect my T and am wondering...

My ENT told me that about half of his T patients had improvement after intratympanic dexamethasone injection. I think this treatment is really worth a try, not necessary at Shea's.
