Tinnitus is a very low shh sound today, i am having more of these days but still get my fair share of louder buzzy days. Will keep a diary..

I say yes because I have a 30 dB dip around 3-4 kHz but my tinnitus can be really mild some days and others it's moderate and more buzzy.The mild days are a smooth shhh sound. I don't think my hearing has recovered but something is causing good and bad days.

Where did you read that? Mine's always been a hum but it can be more buzzy when I'm stressed or haven't slept well. I've never had a classic "ringing" or tone type of noise.

Moderate hearing loss is 40+ dB. 25 dB hearing loss is mild.

My uncle, granddad, and my dad gets tinnitus frequently and I'm sure my mum said she does too. Do they protect their ears? Never. Strange ailment this is.

There's a fire alarm test at my workplace every Monday morning. Can't say it's ever affected my tinnitus, maybe if I put my ear right up to it would.

Hi, I have noticed on days when my tinnitus is worse that sometimes when i breathe my ear will get a little clogged and the way to make it pop is to pull on my ear lobe or “manipulate” my ear muscle until it pops. Can anyone relate to that?

On the mild days I think “ah I’m not in a rush for Lenire, it can wait a year or two”. On the moderate days I'm financially planning for it, so annoying!!!

How would it cause damage? I don’t think many of the ingredients are ototoxic.

If you do go don't sit near the front. Try and swap the tickets for somewhere in the middle or closer to the back and wear custom moulded ear plugs or foam ones.

Noise induced - soft hiss noise. Can change to more of a jangly cricket nosie when stressed/tired.

I sleep fine with it, i did go through an anxious stage with it for a few months where sleeping was a struggle. I think I joined here because it made me anxious, once I got that under control everything's fairly normal in life again. Saw Nightwish in November, had a great time and no problems...

@Drone Draper, my 4 kHz dip is at 30 dB. The ENT said I would need to be moderate (more than 40 dB) across most frequencies before being a candidate for hearing aids. My tinnitus is mild white noise kind of sound, pretty mild. Accumulated from about 10 years of metal gigs, I am just turning 30...

I thought that it's only the profoundly deaf people who it doesn't work for? My right ear which has t has a couple of mild dips i hope it will get rid of my tinnitus. My t is mild but it would be great if i could get rid of it.

This is true and some people are more awkward to get along with. I do enjoy some social interaction but being alone is bliss.

I found it quite annoying how Mick was so oblivious to loud noise. I assume he doesn’t have tinnitus as he doesn’t seem to care.

I have posted news about neuromod in a couple of UK Tinnitus groups and it only receives a couple of likes. Seems everyone in there takes their GP's words as gospel. "NOTHING CAN BE DONE EVER THERE IS NO CURE AND THERE NEVER WILL BE!"

Been to a few concerts with tinnitus. The last one was with custom ear plugs and it was fine. I was well away from the speakers and found the volume level comfortable.

Hmm I know what you mean but at least there are testimonies from people who have had good results with this bimodal stimulation thing. Did anyone report similar positive results with the devices you mentioned?

@Manny just an observation. At my last hearing test in 2016 my right ear showed 30 dB at 3-4 kHz. I think those frequencies have probably been damaged gradually over the last 10 years or so from attending clubs and gigs. Maybe this is why I have not had an adverse reaction to the results of...

Maybe it's still set to the audiogram that was taken. Hearing loss is only so when it is greater than 20 dB so even if the audiogram is mostly 5-10 dB it can still be set to that.

Damaged like someone with hearing loss but no tinnitus? Genuinely curious about this.

Maybe it's the kind of thing where we will just get an update one day in Jan/Feb to say it is now available at selected audiology shops in x location.

Mine goes to 30 dB at 3 and 4 kHz on my right ear. I do not have trouble hearing people though. It should be fine at your hearing levels. I was also told it was not bad enough for hearing aid, I think they only recommend hearing aids for moderate to severe hearing loss.

Well yes possibly but it is supposed to be used for ten weeks so let's wait for that time period to end before judging.

Someone on a Facebook group said beware of stimulating the trigeminal nerve as it can cause neuralgia. Anyone know about that?
