Tinnitus Week 2018 / Day 1: What Techniques Do You Use to Manage Your Tinnitus?

I have a noise maker. Some of the best sleep I ever got was when I was in the Navy underway. The sound of the waves against the hull of the ship, rhythmically would work every time. The noise maker doesn't recreate it, but it comes close. I've never used any drugs of any kind or done much more...

Hi — Diagnosed with Tinnitus Prior to My Discharge from the Service

Hi Bobby. I was a communicator in the Navy. Pretty much during my time in, I was exposed to loud noise on a fairly constant basis. I attribute the tinnitus to the time I spent working with HF comms (lots of white noise, hisses, squeels, pops etc.). I know that prior to working at that command...

    A Constant

I was a Naval Communicator for 20 years. One tour, the one where my tinnitus began, I was responsible for an HF voice circuit called Safety of Flight. It was exactly as it sounds. The planes checkled in with us regularly, on the HF circuit. Sometimes the atmospherics affected the circuit badly...

    A Constant

I am new to this site. Been reading some of the posts. Nothing I see matches what I'm dealin with, or maybe I just don't understand some of the verbage. I have had tinnitus since 1997. My hearing is continually getting worse. I tried hearing aids (got tested and they let me take them for a...

Basically just just ignoring it for the most part. It's just been a factor in my life that I can't change. As far as what caused it to get worse lately, I have no idea.

Hi. My name is Glenn. I've had ringing in my ears, mostly high pitched but sometimes different frequencies in each ear since 1997. I have loss of hearing, and as of late the noise is becoming louder, to the point that I am having a hard time concentrating on what someone is saying to me. I have...
