Amplifying Hearing Loss Frequencies — Won't This Create a Vicious CIrcle?

Ok. Let me add a thing to that. If person A can hear his favorite music at 60 dB without problems and person B needs to amplify the 8000 hz to 85 dB to be able to percieve all frequencies equal to person A, is that potentially dangerous?

    Need Help — Clogged Ear

I called two ENTs. They don't count it as an acute situation since I don't experience pain or fever. The nearest appointment I could get was the 12th of january. I even just called the emergency clinic who said the same. I do however have an appointment with my GP tomorrow.

    Need Help — Clogged Ear

Hello all, I need some advice. So my girlfriend just had the sinus infection and I had to drive her to the emergency clinic two times because she vomitted from all the mucous. It really was bad but I didn't seem to catch it myself. However, as she more or less recovered I began to get a bit...

Notched Music Therapy (DIY, AudioNotch, etc.)

I have actually been experimenting a lot with this, but i've been unsure of how important it is to be able to hear the end of the notch. At Audionotch.com it says something about what is allowed for the therapy to work: "Maximum hearing loss ranged from 10 - 100 dB, with an average max...

Notched Music Therapy (DIY, AudioNotch, etc.)

Hello, I have a question about the notch that applies to notched music therapy/notched white noise therapy. A person has a tinnitus frequency at 13000 hz. He makes a notch between 12000 and 14000 hz. However, this person has an age-related hearing loss at frequencies above 14000 hz. Probably...

Does anyone know of a good source of an audio file with Binaural Beats that operates with theta waves? I can find some alleged theta wave files on YouTube, but I have no proof of whether or not they are legit. Would very much like to be sure of the content of the audio so I'm not listening...

    Silence — No-Go?

Is silence bad for habituation? Sound enrichment is advised for sleeping and sometimes also during the day. This should aid habituation. But if one habituates, then what happens if he/she enters a silent environment? I'm thinking a lot about silence these days. I have a difficult time...

    A Few Questions on Habituation

Thank you! I do use sound erichment at night now, and it has changed my sleeping pattern to the better. I like it very much and my girlfriend luckily also like it. I use both a bedside masker under the pillow and a normal bluetooth speaker with same sound. I hope it aids habituation.

    A Few Questions on Habituation

Hello all, My original tinnitus which i had for 10 years was mild, and I never had to mask it or use sound enrichment of any sort. Mimi Hearing Test App Review

When I test with my iPhone 6 Plus I have mild hearing loss. If, however, I test with my iPad, I have the hearing of a 18 year old. I believe none of them since I already know my real audiogram from the ENT. I have normal hearing for my age (35). So don't take the results too serious.

Stress, Tension, Dental Work and Tinnitus?

Hello there, I made a thread some weeks ago regarding a spike that happened one night in january. I've had T for 10 years and this is the first time I've ever experienced this kind of spike. My T is caused by a broken ear drum. Back in January I had a rough time. First I had a cold, then 3...

    Listening to Music

Hello everyone, When I first got T 10 years ago, music listening was a huge factor in my habituation and I love to listen to music (through normal speakers - not headphones). I have nearly always listened to music on safe levels (my T is not directly noise induced). I recently got a spike that...

Was It the Cold/Flu or Where Did the Spike Come From?

Hello all, This is kinda a long post, please forgive me for that. So here is another new member of the board.
