    How to Reduce Your Tinnitus

For the last couple of weeks I was so busy that I was unable to think of anything else but work. I must say, me not focusing on it is one of the best ways to slightly tune out lol. (I'm sure that the white noise generated by computer fans and Central air helps me masking it).I was able to go...

    The Positivity Thread

My tinnitus can be moody, I can sometimes forget about it for a whole day and then I can hear it clearly at night before falling asleep. It can also get pretty high pitched sometimes for now particular reason and so I can hear it over the tv. This is when I feel really sad, and then I remember...

    Tinnitus. The new silence.

When I first got the T I was all upset for days. Then I started habituation, I simply was too busy to keep thinking about it. I found that outside noises such as external environment, driving, noises at school, work etc mask my noise :). I stay active and don't have to listen to the new silence...

People Who Are Tinnitus Sufferers, But Without Hearing Loss!

Haha cook bites I love the expression. Well, you're right knowing is better than not being sure. I still am amazed that we thrive in the field of technology yet we have limited knowledge regarding human body. It seems that medicine can fix mechanical issues, but when it comes to circuits not so...

People Who Are Tinnitus Sufferers, But Without Hearing Loss!

:) in any case if they do find the missing frequency ... They will still be unable to do anything, as far as I'm concerned.

People Who Are Tinnitus Sufferers, But Without Hearing Loss!

Here are my answers. A1: Stress surely yes. But I started hearing the T after attending a very loud concert. A2: No infections. A3: Yes, but it never seemed to bother me, and it was rather occasional. A4:It seems to be in the same range but sometimes I feel like it's somewhat louder or...

    Scared and alone

My T is usually louder after sleep. I used to panic a lot when it was all new but I slowly started acknowledging the fact that the thing is making that auditory sensation. Myself I try to keep myself busy so that I am focused more on stuff I have to do rather than on the sensation of sound and...

    Hello All

Thank you Jeff! I also wish you and all of us all the best. I am hoping for one of two things, either for all of us to become free of T or an effective and free treatment for all of us. :)

    Hello All

Hi Karen, My T begun end of November last year. I attended a concert and I believe it was the cause of it . I had a consultation with and audiologist in December. I was told to come back for another consultation after two months from the initial appointment but I am not so sure what they could...

What's the worst part about having tinnitus?

For me the Worst part is the reflection on the past and wondering if there was something I could have done better to avoid it and from time to time wondering whether it will unexpectedly go worse/changes the tune. I guess the not knowing May be the worst lol :) but hey can't predict everything...

Do We Avoid Social Life and Noisy Places Because of Tinnitus?

Myself I do pretty much everything I did before. So no significant limiting myself. I use good ear plugs when going to concerts or when being at some loud place. I also turned down the volume on my iphone. I noticed that there is a volume safety feature in settings. I try doing things with...

This is very interesting! Did you change anything about your daily routine that day? Makes me want to ask what u did prior to that temporary relief? :)

    Spike...yikes!!

For me I notice spikes when I am nervous, exercise and eat unhealthy foods lol.(as if my tinnitus was in charge to make sure I eat healthy diet) Usually it is temporary and goes down. I also am usually busy throughout the day and not pay attention to it. I am aware of it but just have too much...

    Football Game

I usually do not limit myself but I prefer to be careful use ear plugs that are guaranteed to lower the noise. What I am scared most of are actually foods that cause spikes in pitch. Like I ate some sweets and i can tell that it wasn't a good call lol. How loud is your T?

    My visit to the ENT

You're right labeling as permanent or temporary is not going to do much. It really makes me wonder however that T can be switched on one day just like that and that's it! May I ask what triggered yours? I started experiencing mine after a concert. Pretty foolish I know, but I had no idea that...

    My visit to the ENT

I very much agree with what you wrote about brushing off the whole thing with stress. On other hand stress can be very tricky. In regards to the 2 month waiting period I believe that it may have something to do with the suspicion of "temporary" tinnitus which could last between 3-6 months...

    My visit to the ENT

I went to a doctor today, we did the test and my hearing is very good as well. I was advised to monitor the T for next two months and if it won't go away to come back. My doctor suspects that stress is a factor in my case. Will see :)

    Why Won't I Habituate?

It is most definitely not easy to get used to. I have it for about a month now. On days when it can be lower in volume I feel good and can get through the day ok. On days when it feels louder all I think about is how to turn it down lol. I noticed however that when I am completely focused on...

Anyone Else's Tinnitus Staying the Same?

mine stays the same so far and it's manageable , I am planning another doctors visit to ask some more questions about it etc. I am all new to this T thing and when I first experienced it I panicked . Now I am little bit used to it, but I want to prevent any further aggravation of it if...

    Hello All

Hi all, am new to this forum and also new to T. I started hearing it as an "extra feature" about a week ago in my right ear ( i became aware of it couple of hours after attending a pretty loud concert). Other than that my right ear hears well. I still hope that this condition will go away one...
