    Metabolic Tinnitus

Metformin chloride, yes. It doesn't make any difference to my tinnitus though, one way or the other. This is what I found regarding metabolic tinnitus:

Not for me, I had had tinnitus for years before taking any medications.

    Metabolic Tinnitus

I would like to ask you for as many sources on metabolic tinnitus as possible. Does anyone have it? What was the onset like, did it start gradually or instantly? Which metabolic disorders contributed to it in your opinion? My tinnitus started in a split second. I heard a pop in my head and...

Brain Inflammation from Diabetes — Possible Cause of Tinnitus?

Bad news I'm afraid. The neurologist sent me to an MRI scan of head & neck, but they found nothing out of the ordinary. I'm screwed.

Double Jaw Surgery Fears Due to Tinnitus of Unknown Cause

What ajc said. Also, I wouldn't worry too much about the surgery worsening your tinnitus. I had a TMJ surgery quite recently and the surgeon resected an innervated ligament inside the joint but there was no change to my tinnitus. I would even say the surgery might help you getting rid of it...

Brain Inflammation from Diabetes — Possible Cause of Tinnitus?

Well, I'm a T-Rex, so my posture is not optimal, but thank you for pointing that out. :wacky: If you ask me however it just has to be connected to inflammation in some way. Diabetes (sugar) -> pro-inflammatory. Lack of exercise -> pro-inflammatory. Stress (cortisol) -> pro-inflammatory. Some...

Brain Inflammation from Diabetes — Possible Cause of Tinnitus?

That's why I sure hope what popped was a blood vessel and not a nerve. Nerves cannot regenerate, whereas blood vessels can.

Brain Inflammation from Diabetes — Possible Cause of Tinnitus?

Yup. A detailed discussion on TNF-α correlation with brain inflammation here: TNF Alpha and Brain Inflammation How does blood sugar affect inflammation? Maybe hyperglycemia can cause damage to the blood-brain barrier, which messes up the brain, hence tinnitus?

Brain Inflammation from Diabetes — Possible Cause of Tinnitus?

Is that a plausible cause of tinnitus? Say you're overweight, developed type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure, don't exercise much, can't handle stress. (Yes, you suck hard, but that is not the point here.) One day you hear something go pop in your head and you go from beautiful silence to...

Neodolpasse (Diclofenac / Orphenadrine) Improved My Tinnitus While Recovering from TMJ Surgery

I had a TMJ (jaw joint) surgery a month ago. The articular disc was out of place and the joint was completely inflammed. The doctors speculated that the inflammation of the innervated posterior ligament could be the reason (or at least contribute to) my tinnitus. During the surgery they...

Please Suggest a Cause of My Tinnitus — A 38-Year-Old Male with Multiple Health Issues

You guys got me thinking and the more I ponder the more I realise TMJ is a very serious suspect. For example, when I clench my teeth I hear an additional sound in the right ear besides regular tinnitus. I am also missing a lower right molar since forever and chewing on that side might have...

Finding Out the Reason for Your Tinnitus

Thank you so much for your replies guys! :thankyousign: @GregCA - this is a great chart. By the looks of this I have a paroxysmally occurring T that requires an EEG/MRI, however my ear doctor does not consider this a standard diagnostic procedure, which seems kind of odd to me. In fact most...

Stress Induced Tinnitus — I Think? Hi!

Hi there! You and I have quite a few things in common (you can check out my situation here https://www.tinnitustalk.com/threads/finding-out-the-reason-for-your-tinnitus.27932/). I'd say stress and anxiety definitely play a role in, if not trigger T. You should keep improving your lifestyle and...

Finding Out the Reason for Your Tinnitus

Hey, Doris! Did you maybe hear a pop in your head when the whistling began? Do you have problems with ear infection? I would advise you to ask your doctor for an alternative to scratching for relieving the itch since it's probably doing physical damage. Do you maybe have any of the health...

Hello everyone. First off I'd like to say I symphatise with every single one of you for having to deal with this ... sh*t, for lack of a better word.
