Cause of Tinnitus
Something popped in my head
I had a TMJ (jaw joint) surgery a month ago. The articular disc was out of place and the joint was completely inflammed. The doctors speculated that the inflammation of the innervated posterior ligament could be the reason (or at least contribute to) my tinnitus. During the surgery they completely resected this ligament. Unfortunately tinnitus persisted even after the surgery, same as before.

However, I received an infusion of Neodolpasse on two separate occasions while recovering and both times tinnitus was quickly and significantly reduced in loudness.

Neodolpasse 75 mg / 30 mg is:

- sodium diclofenac (anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic, reduces pain)
- orphenadrine citrate (muscle relaxant)

It looks like my tinnitus is caused by an inflammation, but where? And why?

Or maybe a muscle in my neck injured a nerve or something?

Anyone have any ideas?

When my tinnitus began, I heard a pop in my head. It was like something was damaged.

I am also type 2 diabetic, and sugar has pro inflammatory effect.

Please help me crack this case, it's ruining my life.

I heard a similar pop in my head when my tinnitus began and have been wondering the same thing this entire time.
I think I may have heard a small pop when my horrible debilitating life-changing intrusive reactive tinnitus started while I was recovering from my cold :( It's been long enough ago that I don't fully remember but I think I was having a fleeting tinnitus episode at the time.

After this event, I went from super easy to live with mild tinnitus I couldn't hear all day to the horrible tinnitus I can hear all the time.

You might be onto something. One depresses the CNS and the other limits inflammation similarly like Aspirin does, but also blocking sodium channels and opening some potassium ones.

I've heard several other people with tinnitus claim this. I really wonder what it means.
It must mean something! It was the most horrible experience, just sitting with silence and out of nowhere something pops/snaps and my head instantly fills with noise.

Did you have any dizziness when it happened? It was a while ago for me but I clearly recall getting dizzy/vertigo for about 5 seconds.

Giving this a shot tomorrow.
Soooo how did it go? Any effect?

Do you still have problems with vertigo?

I didn't feel anything, just heard a loud pop in my head and that was it. Like a blood vessel or a nerve got damaged or something.

It happened seven years ago to the day. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, YOU LIFE RUINING BASTARD.
