I Keep Getting Damaged and I Need Professional Help: Seeking Suggestions

Hang in there brother. I have been there myself and it always gets better. Sometimes it's days, sometimes it's weeks before my ears/brain will go back to normal after an episode. Your obvious issue right now is stress and anxiety. I would suggest you talk to a doctor and see if you can get help...

    Hyperacusis/Tinnitus Help

As far as hyperacusis, don't over protect your ears. Go for long walks outdoors and let your ears take in normal everyday sounds. I would recommend doing that as much as possible. Good luck.

Having a Hard Time with This Today

Kevin Hogan wants to sell you a book. [emoji1]. Man I've had T for over 5 years. There was a time that I obsessed over it, constantly listening for it. It would wear me out. Those days are long gone thank goodness. I still have T but the obsession has faded. The first trick that helped me when I...

    Does This Sound Like Hyperacusis?

My friend I have all the same symptoms from time to time. Seems to be worse during the winter but happens during other seasons as well. I have found that trying to figure out triggers creates more stress and anxiety than the actual condition does. I've decided I have a hearing condition that has...

    Tinnitus Worse at Night?

Another common denominator of tinnitus. I think it's just that it's quiet at night with no distractions. I use a pillow speaker that goes between pillow and mattress. Plug in my iPhone and listen to "sleep machine" app. It doesn't mask but gives me something else to focus on.

    What Are Your Food Triggers?

I consume around 300mg of caffeine a day with no ill effects. I really have found no food triggers in my world. What I have found, maybe, is that I have more spikes when I'm hungry. Once I'm on empty I start getting the 5-10 second spikes. Hmmm[emoji848], T is very mysterious. [emoji57]

I Don't Get My Tinnitus Volume. How It Reacts to Noise. Can Someone Explain This to Me?

There is absolutely no figuring out T. Once you commit yourself to that way of thinking, T becomes a lot easier to deal with. IMO.

I'm Scared of My Tinnitus. Looking for Support.

I take aleve and/or Advil quite often and have never noticed a change in T. You should be fine. I have had T for 6 years. It was rough at first but my life is back to normal now. Take the advice above and you'll do well.

    Hi there =)

Symphon, Sounds like you had a bout of Hyperacusis, as did I several years ago. But generally after Hypersacusis fades away you are left with tinnitus. I have had many ups and downs since then but I am a hundred times better than I was a couple of years ago, just through habituation...

    Newbie here....

Well if it makes you feel any better it could be much worse.:) I just woke up with hyperacusis (for no reason, 3yrs ago) which finally faded after a couple of weeks but left me with a moderate case of tinnitus ever since. Hyperacusis is a gabillion times worse than T. So thank your stars you...

"Although I have experienced "fleeting tinnitus" every once in a while where my tinnitus goes crazy, a really high pitched-ringing (louder in volume too) appears out of nowhere, stays there for 30-60 seconds and then disappears and the noise returns to normal." I have those types of episodes...

    Foods

I agree with Jim. I have linked everything to my T, stopped eating, drinking or doing whatever that link maybe, only to notice that it had zero affect whether I did it or not. There is one thing that makes T worse, dwelling on it. You have to ignore it the best you can, even stay away from...

    Tinnitus Is Like Water Torture

That's a crazy story. I am guessing stress is the culprit right now to your increased T. Seems like you have a lot going on right now, medically, and I am sure your stress and anxiety are through the roof. If I were you, I would to try and take at least 30 minutes a day for some meditation...

Sounds like quite a break-through, but very complex. I feel like a cure for tinnitus is going to be stumbled upon rather than found through trial and error. Some type of research, like in the article above is where the "cure" for tinnitus will be found, when they're not even looking for it.

Hi Anne, I understand the torment as well as anybody else on this forum. It gets better, I promise. First and foremost stay out of the silence. You need to have some sort of sound to help you not focus on the T. Second, I use anti-anxiety meds as needed, they help me. Good luck....
