    Learn from Others' Mistakes

I did read your posts in the beginning and I really wish I hadn’t. This is like arguing with my 7 year old. You never get anywhere.

    Learn from Others' Mistakes

Wow. How do you have time for this? It’s obsessive. This is fear mongering at its finest. We need to protect our ears where we see fit, but you would have people believing they will get a permanent spike if they cough. The only evidence you have for anything you say is from here and you take...

I’ve never even interacted with this guy, but after reading his posts I can tell it’s like dealing with a child.

Loud Tone for a Few Seconds — Fleeting / Transient Spontaneous Tinnitus

I haven’t tried it. I don’t know the frequencies of my tones. I haven’t been to an audiologist or ENT. (Sorry I’m just now replying. I didn’t realize they moved my post.)

    My Posting Place

I fell asleep sitting up on the couch (haven’t been sleeping well at night) for 3 hrs with my head tilted forward some. Woke up with neck pain and a headache. I can also now make the tone in my right ear louder by tilting my head to the left. This shit is ridiculous. I actually got some good...

    Don't Ever Lose Hope!

I admire you for not giving up. I loved running, but I can’t anymore. I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis a few years ago and that forced me to slow it down. The last week of March of this year I got a foot injury in that same foot and it still hasn’t healed. The xray on that foot showed...

ENT Wants to Put Tubes in My Eardrums — Positive or Negative Experiences to Share?

I was supposed to get tubes put in when I was 10 because I had ear infections way too often from 4 years old. Doctor said my ear drum was close to rupturing each time I had one and that my tubes were way too narrow for my ears to properly drain. I threw a fit because I was scared, so my parents...

Loud Tone for a Few Seconds — Fleeting / Transient Spontaneous Tinnitus

I get fleeting tinnitus in my left ear (it’s the worst) several times a day. It lasts for about a minute and then goes away. I know fleeting tinnitus is normal, but what I don’t understand is the fact that when it goes away one of the tones in my ear disappears and the other two lower in volume...

The tinnitus in my right ear gets louder when I yawn, but it also gets louder when I turn my head to the right. Don’t know what it means (if anything), but I do know that it is annoying.

    My Sister’s Tinnitus Went Away

My sister (whom I haven’t seen or spoken to in about a year) randomly stopped by my house today. Of course, I was a mess and eventually told her about my tinnitus. She said back in December she woke up to excruciating pain in her ear, couldn’t hear, and had ringing and clicking in that ear. She...

They’re too busy living the “habituated” life to care. Do we really think anything will come from these clinical trials? I’d really like to get back to not hating the world at some point.

    My Posting Place

I really hope they come up with something sooner rather than later. I’m tired of having to give myself pep talks to leave the house. I’m tired of not being able to have fun with my kids. I’m tired of worrying about everything, like going to my son’s graduation...in 8 years (ridiculous I know)...

I read all of it and would rather not read it again. I didn’t misunderstand anything. I know myself well enough to know I will never get used to living with this. The only hope I have is a treatment or a cure.

The last couple pages of this thread are depressing. Can we stop with that BS? No way you can habituate to something that you always have to worry about making/getting worse. Life is not worth living if you have to spend it walking on eggshells. Edited to add that the depressing parts are the...

Possibly the Loneliest Condition I've Ever Known

@sbradls I’m sorry you are feeling this way, but completely understand. I’ve have tinnitus for 7 weeks. I just woke up with it one morning with excruciating ear pain. It’s hard and my biggest fear is it getting worse. It makes me paranoid of all noise, which I realize is irrational. I’m...

A Life with Tinnitus at the Age of 21

You’re ridiculous. Using the term “mentally challenged” as an insult just makes you sound uneducated. Also, I wasn’t aware that anyone over the age of 12 said “butthurt”...

Does Anyone Have Ear Pain That Doesn’t Stop?

Since the morning I woke up with tinnitus almost 7 weeks ago I’ve had pain in my left ear that hasn’t stopped. It takes me back to being a kid when I used to get ear infections and the pain would be so bad I would cry for a week about it. I don’t have any sensitivity to noise. I just have a...

Random, but just want to say thanks for making this thread. Gives me a break from this mess and makes me laugh. I haven’t had tinnitus for that long, but I’m already tired of all the habituation BS. No one is going to care to come up with a cure while everyone is pretending to live the good life...

    Spikes from Anxiety?

Mine does the same. Any time my heart rate starts to rise the tinnitus get louder. It gets louder when I’m stressed, anxious, or annoyed that my kids aren’t listening to me, so I take a few minutes to breathe and the level goes right back down.

    Chocolate Helps My Tinnitus

This is interesting. I see all of these posts saying to stay away from sugar and to keep sodium intake low. I had take out for dinner last night which had like a weeks worth of sodium in it and my tinnitus reduced to barely hearing it in a quiet room later on.

    Anything Else??

I went to the dentist today because of tooth pain (thankfully no root canal), but I do need my wisdom teeth removed and a few other things done. Dental Work (Including Drilling) & Tinnitus — Questions and Experiences

I know there are so many posts about dentist visits already, but to be honest it is stressing me out even more to go through all of them. I have had a fear of the dentist since I was little (I’m talking panic attacks), so as I got older and didn’t have anyone forcing me to go I quit after a...

If I Wasn’t Hanging On by a Thread Before, I Am Now...

Thank you for the reply. I’m still trying to talk myself out of wearing earplugs everywhere outside the house. Thank you for the advice. I’m really trying to calm myself down because in the end it won’t kill me. It’s just really hard, but I think if I could get my anxiety and depression under control it would be much easier. Hopefully I will get there sooner rather than later.

    Does Anyone Else Hate Facebook?

I despise social media period. I had Facebook for about a year in my late teens before deleting it. All people did was talk about things they bought/did and complain about relationship problems. I would be playing Mario Kart while getting drunk by myself. Could.not.relate.

You’re right. I’m positive that my depression and anxiety are making this 1000x worse and I’m not sleeping either. I’ve never really gotten more than 3 maybe 4 hours of sleep a night because I stay awake all night thinking and worrying and now it’s worse. I’m not being treated. I haven’t had...

Hi- (This is going to be long.) I have had tinnitus since the 2nd week of April. I woke up one morning and it sounded like a refrigerator running in my left ear. My right ear had a sound I can’t really describe, but can only faintly be heard in my daughter’s room, the bathroom, or when...
