MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) Discussion & Experiences & Questions

I was hoping that others who had MRIs to rule out acoustic neuromas might have had similar results and consulted neurologists or doctors. And I did say I was seeing a neurologist -___- so no need!

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) Discussion & Experiences & Questions

So I just got my results back for an MRI IAC that I had done without contrast on a 3T scanner 2 weeks ago. Fortunately no acoustic neuroma but instead something else to worry about: "T2 axial images through the brain were supplemented by fine T2 axial and coronal sequences through the IAMs...

Hey @Ozzy - yes those types of tricks definitely help and I will try yours next time I am struggling with sleep. Sometimes I make myself believe that it's the laptop next to my head causing the sound that I hear and together with the laptop fan that this is all normal. @Tenna - yes actually the...

Hey Tenna! So are you reaching the habituation stage now? For the last 4 years I have fallen asleep with some TV series on in the background every night. It's funny how I know that tinnitus can't hurt me yet sometimes I struggle with the anxiety. So you weren't scared of putting your ears...

    Sleeping on Your Tinnitus Ear

Just curious whether there are any of you who can sleep on the ear(s) where you have loud tinnitus and still fall asleep normally? Is there anything you do to achieve this or has it just become something you can do without trying? I'm worried if I sleep on my tinnitus ear, my brain will...

Has Anyone Experienced Serious Setbacks and Then Rehabituated?

@Ken219 I believe it was due to extreme prolonged stress coupled with a very unhealthy diet/lifestyle. I listened to some loud music on headphones when I was stressed which might have aggravated the T. I don't have any hearing loss though. A peculiar beast this one is!

How Do You Know You Have Pulsatile Tinnitus?

Hey Karen, Thanks for your reply - yes I didn't quite think it was pulsatile but just wanted to check. Do you also have a constant (non-pulsatile) type of tinnitus? Which do you think is easier to get used to (assuming the same tone/frequency)?

How Do You Know You Have Pulsatile Tinnitus?

Today I woke up in the middle of the night and noticed a non-constant tone in my ear. High-pitched as always. But I'm struggling to call it pulsatile T because it isn't pulsating along with my heart rate. I hear a constant whine for a few seconds and then it lowers in volume for 1 second etc...

Has Anyone Experienced Serious Setbacks and Then Rehabituated?

Hey Karianne. I first got tinnitus 4 years ago when I was 23. It was incredibly loud and took me up to a year to habituate fully. I then went on to not even thinking about it for 2 years which was amazing, but probably due to stress at my new job I experienced a big set-back in February this...

    Update on My Tinnitus/Hearing

250-0db, 500-odb, 1 kHz-5db, 2 kHz-10db, 4 kHz-10db to 15db, 8 kHz-5db If this is what your hearing test indicates, why do you say you have hearing loss? Just because of the 10db at 2kHz and 4kHz?? This is still totally within the acceptable hearing range (20db)......???

    What causes High-Frequency Hearing Loss?

My hearing is definitely worse in the higher frequency than in the lower (which are within 10DB). Other than loud noise exposure, what else can cause the hearing in higher frequencies to start to get worse? I'd like to try and prevent it from getting worse if possible.

@attheedgeofscience and @Laura89 thank you both for your replies :) I'm not sure if you know but, say someone is of bigger size and gets a larger dose, would that also probably mean that, if an allergic reaction was to occur, it would be much worse than someone who got given a smaller dose...
