Armodafinil is bam-bam isn't it? This stuff really works better than Modafinil. I love it but I honestly can't go to sleep even after 15 hours of 75mg.

Treat it like a benzo so taper as slow as possible. There is a chance of increased tinnitus like with every gabaergic. But the spike won't stay.

i was just watching some footage of live rap/rock shows on YouTube... the level in these shows is obscene... these artists laying on speakers... tons of kids in the front row... to the viewers it's one night but the artists do it day in day out... and still they don't get tinnitus or talk about...

I know. I guess the final point is passing electrical current or stimulation of some sort through the cochlear or vagus nerve. Electricity being key.

I look at it as magnetising a weak magnet. They run directional current through it and all the particles get realigned in a proper way and the magnet becomes stronger again. Yes like cochlear implant but there are less invasive approaches kind of like TENS unit... basically electrode placement...

i wouldn't be too worried if I was you. I've recovered from many upclose explosions... I think it's the prolonged exposure (many hours on a daily basis) to noise such as work in factories or work with engines that can cause lasting tinnitus. Just give it time.

Tilt your head with the ear with water facing the floor and jump on one foot (the same foot that the ear with water is on) and YouTube is a great resource too.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy early on can work... but yeah be patient.. with tinnitus, weeks become days. It will stop or stabilize at a lower level in a few months.

Give it time my friend. Definitely stay away from loud music and wearing headphones. In a month or two it should get better or stop.

How are you doing these days? Are you taking any meds? I saw somewhere you are taking benzos? How soon after the onset of tinnitus did you start taking them? I got tinnitus from stopping a benzo type drug. First two months were the worst but after staying off it for 2 months it halved in intensity.

What are some things you may want to try in the future to fix this Avi? I think it's just a misfiring of nerves... have you considered any neuromodulation therapies?

There is an app called atmosphere... myriad of sounds there you can combine and have on infinite.

Sleep was my only escape when it was really bad. I would put rain sounds next to my ear and try to sleep as long as possible.

i wouldn't discount the benzos even though you stopped for some time. Tinnitus from benzos can take many months to show changes.

Yeah, your tinnitus is very recent. it'll probably go away.

No experience with amitriptyline but if you got it from the benzos or z drugs, it goes away with time but it can take long. If you don't feel physically addicted, stop taking them.

I don't have a problem with sounds... just have tinnitus that I suspect is from benzo withdrawal... It's a tiny hiss that morphs often on top of everything else... either way, I may be willing to make a trip to where you are if it's not too far from Toronto. We can have tea somewhere.
