My Tinnitus Keeps Switching Ears: Does It Mean My Tinnitus Could Be Temporary?

It could very well be TMJ related. If I move my lower jaw from side to side it changes the pitch and volume of my tinnitus. Dirak, does your tinnitus change if you move your lower jaw? My jaw hurts the most when I am stressed. Also, I have had constant neck pain for the past 30 years (I'm 63)...

My Tinnitus Keeps Switching Ears: Does It Mean My Tinnitus Could Be Temporary?

Maybe so. My tinnitus took the day off today for the first time since I got it on November 3rd. :) My tinnitus came on during a time of extremely high stress, anxiety, and lack of sleep 3 1/2 weeks ago. I think those things triggered it. Xanax, Remeron, and some improving life circumstances...

My Tinnitus Keeps Switching Ears: Does It Mean My Tinnitus Could Be Temporary?

It comes and goes. I find it's best for me to keep active. Usually when I do, after a while I notice complete silence (no tinnitus) and then carry on. Whether I have the ringing in my ears is not up to me or anyone else. It just happens, or doesn't. I'm OK either way now.

My Tinnitus Keeps Switching Ears: Does It Mean My Tinnitus Could Be Temporary?

I am only 24 days since beginning of tinnitus. Now I can go to sleep without background sound. I was prescribed Xanax and Remeron. Worrying about it doesn't help. It may be with me for the rest of my life or it might not. I have accepted that.

My Tinnitus Keeps Switching Ears: Does It Mean My Tinnitus Could Be Temporary?

Thats good. It seems that the more you try to fight it, the worse it gets. I have noticed that people tend to post on this forum for a few months or up to a couple of years and then no more. I guess that they either get used to it mostly or it goes away. But I know there are many exceptions.

My Tinnitus Keeps Switching Ears: Does It Mean My Tinnitus Could Be Temporary?

I have had tinnitus since November 3rd when I was extremely stressed and suffering from lack of sleep. Usually its in just one ear at a time but sometimes both. And at times it is gone in both ears. I took Amoxicillin from October 13th - 23rd for infections in both ears. I was taking NSAIDs...

G'day! After 5 Verifiable Near-Death Experiences, Tinnitus Should Be a Breeze? Ahh, Not!

David, Definitely stay optimistic! Please share what you find out from the scientists working on this. Fortunately I do not have hyperacusis either. As for masking noise, I cannot fully mask mine either. It is so high pitched that any additional high pitch noise would add to the annoyance...

G'day! After 5 Verifiable Near-Death Experiences, Tinnitus Should Be a Breeze? Ahh, Not!

Hi. Have you tried white noise, ocean wave sounds, or calming music to help you sleep? I find that some kind of sound helps drown out the tinnitus and help me sleep. Before I developed tinnitus two weeks ago I had a real hard time sleeping with noise of any kind. Also, have you been to a doctor...

Started Experiencing Tinnitus a Week Ago — Unsure What Brought It On

I definitely have TMD. I saw an ENT doctor today and he said my tinnitus is just a symptom of other root causes. My hearing is fairly normal for a man my age (63). In my case he said the likely cause of my tinnitus is anxiety, tight jaw and facial muscles, and NSAIDs. I was taking Ibuprofen and...

Tinnitus from Cranial Sacral Massage: I Desperately Need Help

Today I did my first post here in another 'Introduce Yourself" thread and I haven't gotten any response for help yet either. So I thought I would respond to yours. Hopefully others with more knowledge/experience here will chime in. You are lucky that your hearing is perfect. At least you don't...

Started Experiencing Tinnitus a Week Ago — Unsure What Brought It On

I know everyone here has a LOT more experience and knowledge than me about tinnitus. After learning that Naproxen is ototoxic I took my last dose of it 3 nights ago. Might take a while for it to all get out of my system. Any recommendations about what I should ask my doctor tomorrow? Any help...

Started Experiencing Tinnitus a Week Ago — Unsure What Brought It On

Hi. My name is Brett. I am a 63-year-old guy who just started experiencing tinnitus about a week ago. It came on suddenly and out of nowhere. It comes and goes, and switches from ear to ear. Sorry if this is long to read, but I have had a lot going on in the past year and I feel that one or...
