To be honest no, but I carry on and can only hear it at home most of the time. I know im lucky in that regard. Since getting tinnitus I also got visual snow and floaters which are just as bad if not more. Be very happy you don’t have to deal with those nightmares.

I know, I can relate but you have to carry on. It’s the only way. Life is still beautiful. When I look back on my time with tinnitus, the suffering is a small part of my memory and the good things outnumber it.

I think it’s so easy to understand from a non scientific point of view. The damaged hair cells are further moved and stimulated by louder sounds, thus louder tinnitus. Seems so bloody obvious. Hence spikes. Or if the sound is loud enough it could further corrupt those damaged hairs and cause...

Always Check The Volume Before Pressing Play — Music Blasting on Headphones Gave Me Tinnitus

Hi my friend. I had the exact situation that created my tinnitus. It’s a hard pill to swallow but you will get there to some extent... I’m 15 months in after my volume accident and I’m coping better these days. For 8 months I was a shell of anxiety and regret but humans are very adaptable.

Man I know the feeling, I’m 15 months in and only now feeling like I can stand this. I spent lastnight riding bikes, playing pool and seeing friends at loud bars. I never thought that would be possible again. In all these months it has never stopped or decreased but you will learn to ignore it...

I took a holiday to Vietnam for this exact reason. Your brain is so preoccupied with excitement and curiosity that there is very little time to worry and stress about 5000 scooters passing you honking their horns. I feel like it really helped

Hey Sydney, I just wanted to tell you that this will get better with time, when I first experienced tinnitus and Hyperaracusis following my accident, it broke me like nothing else. Incredible Job Offer with Great Compensation — Concerns Over Loud Situations (Dinners, Flying)

You will be fine. Accept the offer. You can’t let this condition hold you back. You surely will have to take precautions in terms of ear protection at times but don’t let this stop you. I feel like we are a little too cautious here at times. I know full well the difficulties and fear with this...

Hi Sammy, I suffered from constant fluttering for over a year. It resolved suddenly. It’s a vicious cycle, the more you focus and worry about it, the worse it becomes. I slept on the less effected ear for a year and thank god it chilled. Distraction is key, get busy on a project etc. easier said...

Tinnitus After a Concert — Three Weeks After Onset, Fluttering/Clicking Sound in My Ears

Hi Matilda, I just wanted to add. I suffered from the fluttering (TTTS) for a year after my trauma. I couldn’t sleep on my right hand side ear against the pillow. It would constantly flutter and was mentally exhausting. A year later this has subsided and has not come back, touch wood. My guess...

Hi Man, I can assure you that it will most likely settle. Thanks for asking. It’s been a wild ride. The last 5 months is a bit of a blur. I’m still dealing with unchanged tinnitus but the sound sensitivity has resolved itself for the most part.
