Yes, ear wax can block out the normal background sounds that masks tinnitus. If your ear has wax blocking, it can make your tinnitus seem louder. See your ENT, and get it checked out, and removed if you have the wax in your ear, but insist that it's removed manually ONLY, No suction. Good luck...
