Biogetica Tinnitus Treatment — Another Scam?

Even by our impossibly low standards, this company's pitch seems weak. Frankly, I expect better sales pitches from these bogus treatments. I picked out multiple spelling and grammar errors on this company's website and generally found their whole pitch to be extremely vague. I guess the only...

Biogetica Tinnitus Treatment — Another Scam?

I have recently discovered ads for Biogetica on my Facebook feed. It advertises a tinnitus treatment. Out of curiosity, I checked it out and was not convinced that this is anything other than a collection of herbs that will only serve to suck money out of your account. I went to their site and...

    Apple Cider Vinegar

I'm a believer. This stuff may not knock out tinnitus, but it helps with congestion and a number of the related side effects I experience with my hearing issues.

    Apple Cider Vinegar

After months of not using ACV, I am back to using it. I can say that I have noticed one more difference that ACV makes. I should say that I am in bad shape, with my ears being clogged almost constantly. I am on Prednisone, which is having mixed results. However, I can say in the last two weeks...

Antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOs, TCAs, TeCAs)

I would suggest going to reputable websites like Mayo Clinic, WebMD or Drugs.com and use that as a starting point. The only way to find out if the drug is right for you is to try it and see. If you notice any effect in your ears, you can stop it early and avoid long term damage.

Steroids: Prednisone / Dexamethasone / Others (Oral and Intratympanic Injections)

Sorry to hear that. I am taking drugs to sleep, so perhaps my experience is not typical. But I will say that, by about 5 p.m. each day, I can feel the tired feeling coming on, but that might have to do with chasing two young kids around each day. Good luck with the oxygen therapy. Love to hear...

Steroids: Prednisone / Dexamethasone / Others (Oral and Intratympanic Injections)

I am on Prednisone as well and have struggled with sleep. The good news is, if you take your dose early in the morning with food, the effects of the steroids should wear out after 12 hours. I find it's more like 9-10 hours with me. That means when I take my steroids at 7 a.m., by about 5 p.m...

Antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOs, TCAs, TeCAs)

That's a question I've seen here many times and the short answer seems to be it depends on you. I have not tried an AD that didn't cause damage, but that's just me. Some people use any number of them and are fine. But many people on this board have troubles with many of these drugs. Learn from...

Antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOs, TCAs, TeCAs)

My biggest issue is the psychological dependence. I am off both Remeron and Trazodone (25 mg) under the care of my doctor, with the help of zopilcone (sleep aid) and Ativan (just in case). I can't be on either one long and don't intend to be. The good news is they have helped start the process...

Antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOs, TCAs, TeCAs)

I'm pretty sure much of my problem is indeed from Remeron withdrawal, which I stopped cold turkey. I am tapering off Trazodone much more slowly now. I am up against an insomnia wall and have been struggling with the associated anxiety. But now that I recognize what's likely going on, I am going...

Antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOs, TCAs, TeCAs)

To be honest, no. My T has not changed at all. I've been told it gets worse when you're withdrawing, which is what is happening right now. I'm hoping it's going to even out soon. I found getting off Remeron was not all that hard, but I hadn't yet tapered off Trazodone yet, so my experience would...

Antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOs, TCAs, TeCAs)

I am down to 12.5 mg and have to say, I am all over the map, since I am withdrawing from Remeron and Trazadone. I am feeling terrible anxiety, moodiness, weight loss and many of the other ones mentioned. I keep reminding myself that each day it will get better. Only way to get through it.

Antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOs, TCAs, TeCAs)

I should have done more research. Remeron and Trazodone are both ototoxic and I would not recommend them to anyone on this board. I am off Remeron for good. I will never go near that stuff again. I am trying to wean myself off Trazodone, but it's been an awful and difficult withdrawal period. If...

    GABA Supplements (Including Picamilon)

Happy to report that GABA works well to treat daytime anxiety, but has not been much help at night (too much acid in the stomach before bed!). But 5HTP has managed to help me move closer to sleeping naturally. I was able to reduce my Trazodone dosage to 12.5 mg last night, which is huge for me...

    5-HTP for Tinnitus & Hyperacusis?

I can happily report that, after close to two weeks, this supplement is starting to work for me. I have found that it does relax me and helps me get close to sleep. I was able to reduce my dosage of Trazodone to 12.5 mg last night for the first time. I can't say whether 5HTP has had any other...

    GABA Supplements (Including Picamilon)

I woke up one morning (after a week of severe hyperacusis) and found that my right ear had almost completely shut down. GABA Supplements (Including Picamilon)

Thanks all. I was on Mirtazapine until very recently but had a very severe reaction to it. I am going to go with Trazodone on a low dosage for now until I can transition to something natural.

    5-HTP for Tinnitus & Hyperacusis?

@erik - What should I be looking for when 5HTP begins to have an impact in a week, two weeks? I know I must seem over eager, but I am in the midst of a horrible transition away from antidepressants and it's like I'm learning to sleep again. What was your experience when the 5HTP began to work...

    GABA Supplements (Including Picamilon)

Some great ideas here. Melatonin, valerian aren't working for me right now. I am taking 5HTP and GABA. GABA last night did wonders to calm my nerves, but sleep was still tough to achieve. I'm told 5HTP starts to work after a week, so I am hoping these two do the trick in the short term.

Help Please (Mirtazapine Withdrawal, Tinnitus Going Mad)

I had no idea that you could have issues with tinnitus when you are in withdrawal from drugs like Mirtazapine. I am okay now that I am off it for good, but I am now wondering just what an effect it had on my ears. I can't believe how many bad experiences people have had with a drug that is...

Jealousy Is Eating Away at Me

It's all right to feel this way. I honestly think the best thing you can do is let yourself be upset, be angry, be jealous. We've all been there. Once you work your way through these feelings, you may find that you will want to channel that energy in other ways that will lead you to a better...

    Cod Liver Oil

I've read on several sites (some look reputable, others are clearing pushing an agenda) that cod liver oil is helpful because of its Vitamin A and D content. Look up the link between Vitamin A deficiency and tinnitus and you see that people are looking into this. I am trying the oil. It's a low...

Help Please (Mirtazapine Withdrawal, Tinnitus Going Mad)

I've already got three nights under my belt without Mirtazapine. But, I agree that I have been very, very...

Lipoflavonoid for Tinnitus? Helps or Not?

Just an update on my experiment. Sadly, the flavonoids are not working much at all anymore. I am almost back to my previous T volume. I am about 48 hours off this drug for good and can say that I agree with everyone else that I wish I had never gone down the road of antidepressants. Unlike everyone else, I can honestly say I have not gone through withdrawal hell like others. I have...

Help Please (Mirtazapine Withdrawal, Tinnitus Going Mad)

I have been on and off Mirtazapine a number of times, with no withdrawal effects, thankfully. However, after my last attempt at taking this drug for sleep, I have been scared straight. I had the worst day I have ever had in my years of battling T. I had one ear basically shut down by ringing...

    Can Remeron Make Tinnitus Worse

This is just my experience, but I found Mirtazapine initially calmed T or did very little to affect it, which was fine as long as it helped me sleep. More recently, after being on it for a year, I found its side effects were really making it a losing proposition for me. I was way too drowsy in...

Lipoflavonoid for Tinnitus? Helps or Not?

I can say that my ringing has gotten much worse in the last few months, however, the Lipoflavinoids still seem to help in significantly reducing sound spikes. N-Acetylcysteine (NAC)

After a few weeks on this (also been taking one to two tsps of Apple Cider Vinegar a day) I can say that the H is much, much calmer and the hearing spikes have all but gone. I don't know which one of these may be the main reason for the improvement, but either way, I will continue both.

    Apple Cider Vinegar

I have been taking one to two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar each day and I can honestly that it has eliminated all traces of spikes in my tinnitus. The ringing is still there, but there is no fading in and out with my hearing. That is a huge step for me. I still have bad days where my...

Is It Possible My Tinnitus Will Get So Loud That I Will Never Sleep?

Is It Possible My Tinnitus Will Get So Loud That I Will Never Sleep?

I agree that it's the anxiety that keeps you awake, not tinnitus. I have had a great deal of troubles with sleeping, but there are ways to cope. Sleep with a fan on (works for me), try supplements that help promote sleep (I've used valerian root in the past) or go see your doctor. I am on...

Lipoflavonoid for Tinnitus? Helps or Not?
