First Ever Stem Cells Trial Held to Cure Blindness

I love reading these types of findings. I really hope an Einstein of this generation comes along and advance the stem cell therapy much faster so a cure for blindness, hearing loss, and any sensory functions can be returned to those who lack them. I think this will also cure tinnitus as a byproduct.

    Post Your Favorite Quote(s)!

I wouldn't say this is my favorite but I enjoyed this one: If we could shrink the earth's population to a village of precisely 100 people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look similar to this: 57 Asians; 21 Europeans; 14 from the Western Hemisphere; 8 Africans...

Sanuthera Receives 510(k) Clearance for Tinnitus Treatment Device

According to Google: Section 510(k) of the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act requires device manufacturers who must register, to notify FDA of their intent to market a medical device at least 90 days in advance. This is known as Premarket Notification - also called PMN or 510(k). Seems like they plan...

    Can Anxiety Cause Tinnitus?

I think anxiety can spike or make the T seem louder but I'm not sure about it causing the T. Personally for me, I think T came to me when I was at a happy point of my life. After listening to that sound for 2 weeks straight, I started freaking out and panicking. Fastforward 7-8 months, most of...

Melatonin Trial Being Conducted in the UK

I'm kinda curious as to why they think Melatonin will help T? Is it because they think T is related to how much sleep one gets?

TMS — Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation — Holds Promising Future

Source? I don't think that's true because the article states that "Food and Drug Administration has approved transcranial magnetic stimulation only for treatment of depression." If there was no side effect, then why would they limit its use? It must mean that they are still learning the effects...

TMS — Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation — Holds Promising Future

Ah I see, yeah. I thought you were still talking about TMS. I'd still be wary about going in for a TMS treatment. I want to know more about its safety and effectiveness before actually doing it. I don't want to have a tradeoff between some aspects of my health just to stop T. I am sure there are...

TMS — Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation — Holds Promising Future

Oh God. Too risky for me to do since I'm already habituating to my T. I don't want to add on a heart attack/brain attack to my body.

TMS — Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation — Holds Promising Future

Looks interesting. Nice to know it helped patients with longterm tinnitus. But anything on side effects because you're messing with the neural circuits of the brain.

    Survey Results: Rate Your Tinnitus

I found the Quality of Life chart interesting. For those who had T under 6 months had a very choose category 1 but after 6 months, it seems to hover around 9% in category 1. I think it's our ability to adapt to the noise we have to live with. Also the quality of life seems to be very similar...

I Was a Guinea Pig in the Autifony QUIET-1 Study, Great Results

I'm really excited about this good news but are you an outlier? I mean, how many other participants had same/similar results? I'm very hopeful about this. Also what's inside the pills?

Does Your Doctor Listen to Your Ears?

Stethoscope. My dad used to be an anesthesiologist.

Does Your Doctor Listen to Your Ears?

Sadly no. But wouldn't objective tinnitus be more noticeable to the person who has it cuz it'd be more like a pulsatile, right? I know mine is subjective cause my parents tried to listen to my ear but heard nothing. I guess my parents are better doctors than my ENT haha, but really all I got was...

@Kathi Yeah the idea was taken and altered from that movie

What If You Had a Choice to Press a Button?

If you press it, all your T-related issues will disappear. You will eliminate all sensory problems you may have or will have in the future. But the only drawback is that pressing the button means somewhere in the planet Earth someone dies. Would you press it? Another situation to think about...
