I'm still improving every day but if I improved no more than this I'm still over the moon. Barely hear the click any longer and when I do my vision is often unaffected at all and the noise is so quiet. When it does shake my vision it's only mildly and it doesn't bother me.

I'm sure it makes a difference. Some people seem bothered by very quiet T that they say they only hear when in a totally quiet room. For those people I think T itself is not really the problem.

That sounds a bit like mine. Cicada or a Geiger counter going off in one ear intermittently. But mine affects my sight also.

It gets better :) I've had this seven years. Every now and then I flip my lid and throw a fit but it rarely gets to me that much any more. Maybe two or three times a year I have a few hours melt down. ;) You will find that you are stronger and more resilient than you ever thought you were.

It's very common that a cold will cause temporary T but I don't know how many get it permanently just from a cold.

I think this is hypercussis. Sorry - probably spelling error. But this seems common with tinnitus sufferers here. I have it but it's not constant. It may be a few hours where everything sounds way too loud and annoying and then it's fine again. Weird.

See a good specialist. Don't do anything about your current braces etc until you have threeD surround X-ray of your head. Maxilo facial surgeon or specialist would be the best bet. Get them to check you out first and if it is the braces they'll advise you what to do or if a splint is needed.
