Hearing Aids Make My Tinnitus Worse

Ok. I'm on week 3 with my h.a.s/maskers. Still don't know if I'll keep them. Yesterday, I didn't wear them, and my T was almost unnoticeable. I don't like the sensation of a louder world with the amplification. Don't like the hassle either. This website has been so informative.

    Well, Hello!

Sounds like mild tinnitus. Be a little careful and avoid super-loud venues, if possible. (Earplugs might help if you can't avoid noisy places.) You don't want it worse. I've had an annoying high-pitched buzzing for past 6 months, since I had the flu. Before that, I had a faint but real...

    Hearing Aids and Tinnitus

Had a good first 2-week visit yesterday with my audiologist. She upped the Widex h.a. amplification to 75%. I had her change a zen program to one more pleasing. I got a copy of my hearing test, but don't know how to read it. So I'll ask her next visit. She said something that surprised me. Maybe...

Tinnitus Since 1987 and Recent Allergies Are Killing Me!

I just have a quick question. This looks like a similar topic. I have T and H. I've had sinusitis lifelong, so am used to it. But moving from NY to Florida has certainly increased the congestion. Any ideas out there on the effect of humid climate on T? Thanks for any info.

Severe Tinnitus Since 1978... Please Tell Me There's Hope.

I assume you're asking about the T. My ENT, before handing me back to my Audiologist for Widex hearing aids, said to come back to him in a year, because he may have a pill by then for T. Don't think you need another pill, but he's working with a British research company on a pill. Anyway, kudos...

    Stress and Tiredness and Worry

True, but everyone has something. Always there are those who seem to suffer less in life and those who suffer more. As with many illnesses, the mind-body connection is very very real. Tinnitus is a real challenge, but is also an opportunity to learn, grow, connect. I was so upset when I realized...

    Hearing Aids and Tinnitus

Wonderful info. Thanks. I have more to ask my audiologist tomorrow. Despite the h.a. price, my experiences have been wonderful so far, with the clinic, ENT doc, and esp. the audiologist. For better quality of life, I think this will be the best path for me. Good to hear positive things from...

Just Got Sciatica Back and Leg Pain...

And there's the up side. I injured my left thigh muscle last year, and the pain is still so bad, I hardly notice my right side sciatica! Life's little ironies. Attitude is Everything!

    Hearing Aids and Tinnitus

I also bought a wire that can be used with my Widex hearing aids. It loops around the neck, and has a built in control. It is rechargeable. It plugs in to any headphone jack, like my MP3 player, smartphone, etc, and then, via air, not wires, it sends the music etc straight into my hearing aids...

    Hearing Aids and Tinnitus

Tomorrow I go for my first tune up. The cleaning and the tune ups are free for the first year, then there's a cost for any visits. I will have to ask questions tomorrow, about frequency, etc, as well as get a copy of my own hearing test. I will probably change the 'zen 3' music to something I...

    Hearing Aids and Tinnitus

I have had my Widex hearing aids for 2 weeks now. I have 3 zen music/maskers in them, full amplification, and softer amplification. I have 60 days for trial. I have mixed thoughts. They work amazingly to cover the tinnitus, as I can tell when I remove them at night. I do have some hearing loss...
