Our cats have caught birds and chipmunks. I hate to see that but that's their instinct. I don't see any chipmunks any more, just little red squirrels. A lot of gray, black, and fox squirrels. I have seen turkeys today including 4 Tom turkeys spreading out their feathers, that was quite the sight.
Wow! The wildlife where you are sounds awesome! 'Fox squirrels, chipmunks' - we don't have those here in England. Shame the cat kills them, but you are right, it's their instinct. Little gits!

I've just been there about a year. It was my parent's house. It's a couple miles out of town overlooking a river. Before that I was in an old farm house. Yeah a lot of wildlife. I like to see the deer and wild turkeys. It's hard to keep the feeders from being empty as the squirrels seem to be hoggers. Pretty soon the humming birds will be back.
