Cause of Tinnitus
Sshl???
this has been the worst week of my life ever, I'm fit attractive female,40, lovely home, good job, loving family, until Thursday 10th Dec, I woke up dead, thought it was ear infection, Drs 2 days later had sudafed, by Sunday my body stopped functioning so I went emergency room, I was in a bad way, they ran a ear specialist who prescribed steroids, my head was thumping along with my heart, I was feverish, then shivering, dizzy, couldn't walk, concerntrate, lights were too bright in the dark I was dizzy, went back to my own docs cried and was told that it happens and I will get used to it, gave me a few sleepers, didn't work, so athe next day made day 5 no sleep, I wanted to end it, rang my husband at work, he told me take a pill, and chill.

I was suicidal as I had been on forums and seen the devistating affects and no cure!

Found some lovely people on this site who with medication that my son went and bought for me to calm me, just 3 days later so now 10 days from start I am positive, I can see a future and already started going out facing my fears, yes it will take time but reading positive books, positive friends, and positive mentors from this sight is helping, last week I wanted to die, this week I can't wait to be 100% better so I can too help others! It has changed my whole way of life! And it might even be for the good, I'm 25% better in 10 days! Yes I may have a setback, but follow all the positive posts, don't look for a cure as u already have it, the mind is the strongest and complex part of the body, calm your mind, get medication to calm your body, aim to do things u used to enjoy, the mentors on here should be given bloody awards as they have h pled me more than any of the doctors! U can do this, it takes time, and I for one will be doing my most to publicise that this needs more awareness, once I'm back to my old new improved self I too hope to help the newbies who are just left to deal with this panic mode! Love to u all xxxxx

Hi Charron,
You have faced the tinnitus monster and faced it full on.
You have been in a bad way and came through it a little.
These times might come again with a spike or change of sound but keep this positive thought going if you should happen to be in a bad place again.

Thank you for sharing your tough time and your positive days too.
lots of love glynis x

Thank u Glynis u ave commented a few times and thank u for that, I'm going to beat this, and one day hope to support others the same way, to stress and have anxiety and panic attacks just ups the level! I'm ready for a setback I know I'm not 50% yet but compared to last week I can at least smile a bit, keep up your support x

Went to bthe d woke up deaf! The T came day later, was in a bad way, still struggling to sleep even on diazepam but my system is in fight or flight mode apparently, I e accepted there's no cure but I will be patient to habitation and then my system will adjust, I won't let it beat me, it's the most challenging thing I have ever faced! Made me view life differently, xxxx

Hi @Charron,
You have done remarkably well in a short time. There are many experienced members on here who are willing to help us get through the difficult early stages of dealing with T. Don't forget to read IWLM's Back to Silence coping strategy. Regards Phil

I am a strong person, my nickname was super woman, I don't deserve that now but my outlook has changed, I never had sympathy for illness as I have never been ill, this has taught me a BIG lesson, I shall now rename myself, not superwoman but perhaps changed for the better woman! Thank u all the mentors giving me the time to comfort xxxxx

You're doing great. I've had my T for just about 8/9 weeks and usually cope okay also but have difficult days here and there so I understand how hard it is. It's like one step forward, two steps back but I can see progress in how I cope and also how my tinnitus affects me. Sounds like your well on your way for healing. Have you been to the dr? Also, keep in mind from everything I've read here that tinnitus can go away on its own especially prior to the 6 month mark! :)
