Well, I seem to be in a rut of experiencing sudden loud noises lately. The latest being 120dB at a one foot range. The only good thing is it was only 1-2 seconds as an alarm technician activated a test while I was next to it. Of course my ears are blaring and my headache is here.
I know the exact dB as I put my iPhone app dB meter next to it while I activated it from another pad away from it.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. My mind is in the pits right now, imagining all the worst scenarios that could possibly happen.

It seems that my fear of sound, sudden or loud has really intensified of late, while my T perception has waned, so I'm afraid this will be that permanent increase that I have been dreading for 2 years now.
Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom or experience.

There is still a good chance that it will end up being a temporary spike. It is usually not easy to get a permanent spike.

Temporary spikes can last a surprisingly long time

You might begin getting worried about it becoming permanent, only in case it doesn't subside for more than three months.

Are you ok now? Did you take anything such as NAC, ALCAR, Nicotinamide Riboside, mag, vitamin C, A, E etc, CoQ10, Alpha lipoic acid, other antioxs?

I've actually been doing pretty good with it. I put my amplification hearing aids in, that I've kinda weaned off of. This helps reduce the T to a point of really not hearing it. Although, they amplify sound too much for me to keep them in for more than emergent situations. I'm thinking the beeps were so brief, less than a second each, that it didn't do any damage other than mental anguish. I did get an immediate headache which I am adviling it for last night and today.
Yes, I took magnesium, taurine, nac and acetyl l-carnitine, amd will take all of these for another day or so.
I really have to work on my sound fear, as I'm sure this exacerbates these brief sudden exposures, which are typically no more than 120, as is the case with an ambulance last week.

I am pleasantly suprised and encouraged by this event.
