4 Health Issues — Doctors Cannot Help Me

@Zora Based on your symptom descriptions, I would strongly urge you to see a ME/chronic fatigue syndrome specialist, especially if this all started happening to you after getting mono. It is suspected that the Epstein Barr virus (the one that causes mono), can continue to mess with you even after the infection dies down. Perhaps you can fix your issues if you do something about it now. Heck, maybe the T will go away as well! I know I suffered a constant brain fog for about 4 months after an infection I caught in January (the brain fog didn't appear until late February). Headaches as well along with constant ear popping. It didn't go away until last month when I started taking a corticosteroid nasal spray. Perhaps we have similar etiology, with yours being slightly more pronounced?

I know someone who currently has Lyme disease with very bad chronic fatigue and other symptoms.

My T is 100% noise induced. So unfortunately its not ever going to go away. I dont have chronic fatigue anymore :)
Also I got my "brain fog" my derealization right after I hit a joint in a very anxious situation. So there is no correlation. Some people are just unlucky just like me. But thank you for trying to understand and help my situation.

I have something similar to chronic fatigue. I get insanely tired at random points throughout the day, to the point where I can hardly keep my eyes open. I feel like this has something to do with stopping all caffeine and possibly benzodiazepine withdrawal.

Hi, @Zora,

About the derealization: I experienced that about 6 years ago, when my adrenal fatigue started. It was a feeling that I was constantly in a fog, and wasn't really all there --- very hard to describe. I remember having it while I was at work, and trying to get through the day like that. How horrible!

Anyway, I want you to know that, as my adrenal fatigue improved, so did the derealization. Now, I don't have it any more, and I'm back to normal, fatigue-wise. I am still being careful, though, so that I never experience that awful fatigue again, by watching my diet, exercising regularly, etc.

I believe that your derealization will improve, too, as you get better. You may just be experiencing the results of mononucleosis, from what I've read. It may take awhile, but I believe you will get better.

Take care, and please keep us posted on your progress!!

Hugs,
Karen

Hi,

I've had an interesting afternoons's research about the vagus nerve. It seems to have something to do with almost everything from tinnitus, to bloated, bellies, anxiety & orgasms! Apart from the tinnitus, I'm generally pretty healthy, however I do suffer from the odd dizzy /semi fainting spell, followed by heart palpitations, & currently have a sore back, these can all be traced back to the vagus nerve. It affects a huge amount of things, if you type in vagus nerve & any illness you care to mention you'll probably find it. I did searches for autism, mental illness, bloat, among others.

A lot of sites recommended using a chiropractor or acupuncturist. I regularly have acupuncture for my sore back, but I have never told my acupuncturist about my other symptoms, but I definitely will tell her next time I go. Some sites also mentioned diet .... if you have a food intolerance, finding out what you are intolerant to will make for a happy vagus nerve, & settle the symptoms.

About a year and a half ago, I started to have all of these goofy symptoms: tinnitus, brain fog/de-realization, occasional pins/needles in hands and feet, fatigue, dizziness and a bunch of other things. All scans/blood tests came back clear but for acute Epstein-Barr Virus (mono, glandular fever). Everything but for the tinnitus cleared up in about 3 months, I also cleaned up my diet for a month (no gluten, dairy or sugars).

Now a year and a half later, I am having a flare up of some sort. Have had burning sensations in feet/hands/body, bloating of the stomach, silent reflux, insomnia, some fatigue etc. It has SLOWLY improved with time but I for the life of me can't figure out what is going on.

Does anybody have any suggestions? Apologies for not making a new thread but I think all of our issues are similar even if caused by different things.

This is interesting, I have considered an acupuncturist but it's just so expensive.
