I'm 4 months in since my mild tinnitus became intrusive I write this post in a hospital due to the anxiety and depression it's caused, I'm worried I'll never be able to function or work again, it's so sad the impact it's had on my life

Some questions:

a) both ears or one ear?
b) How does it sound?
c) Any pattern?
d) Which medicine do you get?

Hi @Bazan . It was really nice to talk to you the other day. I hope you are getting the help you need. Yes it is sad, but it will become less sad with time and the right approach. I really wish you well. One day at a time as they say. You will get there. Try to focus on the good things in your life. Best wishes

Bazan rest and relax and accept the care in the hospital for now. Addressing the anxiety issue from the constant tinnitus is so important. Be assured with proper care you will be okay. Tinnitus's impact is so very misunderstood but you are certainly not alone.

You will be able to function and work again. Be gentle to yourself right now.

Hi all many thanks for your kind words, I do hope in time I will get back to the happy person I once was and get my life back

It's the best place for you at this time, just take each day as you can. You'll get the help you need and some better coping mechanisms for dealing with this in the future. Keep us posted of your progress mate.

Treating your anxiety and depression, and being able to sleep well, will form the basis from which you will get back to enjoying the important things in life. It sounds like you are in good hands for now, good luck with your treatment and make sure to have follow up therapy upon your release. I suffer from anxiety and depression also. You WILL get your life back. It's hard to imagine when in a depressed state, but it's true. I look back at my first few months with T as a traumatic, dark time in my life. Although my T can still be damn annoying, the same level of anxiety and depression has not returned. Best wishes to a successful outcome with your current treatment.
