Today during my game I got hit hard in the head running after a catch and my tinnitus spiked LOUD at the moment of contact.

It spiked for about 5 seconds then returned to my normal baseline.

Why did it spike for only a short time, then return to normal?

Do you guys think I experienced some sort of acoustic trauma despite my tinnitus not getting any worse?

Somatic tinnitus, some people's tinnitus is caused by getting hid in the head.

@Dankmemes I literally had the same shit happen to me today. Running to put in a tackle and the guy tried to kick the ball downfield. I turned slightly, but it smacked me on the back of the head behind my right ear.

Went deaf/had altered hearing for about 20 seconds. Spiking now. Hoping it goes down in a few days. What is yours like now?

Mine is back to baseline like I said. It’s crazy how something like that can cause a spike though. Hopefully yours gets better soon.
