Cause of Tinnitus
guess
I just ordered 500 large crickets. :troll:
I don't even have an aquarium set up. Maybe I'll just set them free in the house. I do hope they make lots of sound. :puppykisses:

I liken my T to a whole bunch of noisy cicadas in the distance. So if I order 500 cicadas will that cancel the noise out? :LOL: Let us know how it goes.

Where can you order these? How expensive? Do you need to feed them? What do they eat?
I see a app on my iPad for crickets for free. I will load it on my iPod too. These don't eat anything. Oh my hissing is so loud now that I woke up. Hard to believe. I'm not sure if it's my neck, ears, or brain caused? Frustrating. I will need to check into a insane asylum very soon.:( My favorite movie was Shutter Island.

i just ordered a shark

I have cricket CD's and a summer night CD. They are pretty good but not as good as the real thing outside. After awhile though, these CD's can drive you crazy!

I currently have the back door open listening to the summer crickets as I sit at my computer.
For some reason sounds coming from a speaker don't do it for me. Same with water noises. Rushing water is one of the few things that actually masks my tinnitus if it's loud enough, but rushing water tracks do nothing for me. I don't understand why.

@Alue,

Yes, agreed, the real thing is preferred. Here in Florida, summer cicada bugs can be so loud, you sometimes have to go indoors! But most nights, those, crickets and tree frogs, mask my T 100%. I have often slept outside.

Wish I lived in Florida, plenty of masking noise for most of the year.

I find my fish tank helpful with the pump sound and relaxing.
I can remember someone on another forum saying they had a tank in every room in the house but no fish !.....lots of love glynis

I put ten or more outside my window, so far they are loud, constant and wonderful. The rest are in the cage eating, not making any noise. They just got here so maybe they were start again, the box they arrived in was very loud. :android:

Are you guys serious? You really got crickets? My husband says that in an aquarium all together they don't make noise. He doesn't know why. He managed a pet store when he was in high school and had aquariums full of them to feed the other animals.

ok I just googled it and it's because they make the noise to attract other crickets for mating. so if they are all together they don't need to do that.

Went to Greece for a week, surrounded by the sound crickets in the hills and waves from the sea. Almost felt an instant relief, will be going there again and again. Looked on the Internet for countries where crickets are loud all year round, can't get an answer. Would consider moving...quite drastic, given that the whole family would have to come...!
