Hello, I'm Nicole, 22, and I've had tinnitus since I was around 14 years old.
I guess it started when I had the flu, I was relentlessly blowing my nose and one night I blew it super hard and I felt a sharp pain and high pitched sound in my right ear, and thus my weird morse code sounding tinnitus was born! (At least, this seems to be the only reason how I could have got my tinnitus)
It wasn't until a few months later that I finally decided to go and see a doctor about it, so numerous tests and a few specialists later, it was confirmed that I had tinnitus and there was nothing more they could do for me... so that was great (Also a bit of a wasted 2 hour trip out to the specialist)
I often freak out if it gains any volume or if my ear blocks because I can't handle the constant sound, so I always have to fall asleep with the TV on in the background to drown out the tinnitus... much to my sister's dismay who has shared a room with me for a number of years haha.
