Noise exposure (concert)
Hi,
My girlfriend and I would want to celebrate NYE in a European city (well, she wants it more than me but I told her we would do it).

Do you have a European capital to recommend for tinnitus sufferers? One that is not loud... I already crossed out German cities of the list because of the tradition there to throw firecrackers... I'm not sure how it is in other germanic countries.

I also want to avoid cities with big concerts outside...

And if there is a firework that is fine... I'll cover my ears during its length.

Thank you for any suggestion
Best,
Julien

What scares me the most is countries where people also throw their own firecrackers.. do you know which are those countries to put on my blacklist?

I never even considered noise exposure for NY... I am going to Zurich, and on 31st will be traveling to Chamonix to do some skiing. Buy good ear plugs. I carry them with me now all the time. Just never know when you will end up in loud place.

Thank you. I have custom earplugs yeah.. I may wear them the whole night actually. I don't know where to go. I thought about Stockholm, Copenhagen or Vienna but it looks like all big and interesting cities seem to have live music in the streets :(

Bump.. if there is anyone from the cities i just mentioned or already went there for NYE, could you please let me know how safe it is, sound wise, on that night. Thank you

You are from France so you got a lot of good options within your country, like the south eastern parts that are neighbouring to Switzerland. Or maybe north of Spain, Bilbao...the basque areas. Very mountainy and beautiful.

I would go to "small cities" or "big villages" like Crans-Montana in Switzerland... Or in the Swiss German part there are a lot of good and quiet places... ;)

But in France you can find also very good places like this ! Chamonix and others...

But your GF wants to go into a city ?
