Cause of Tinnitus
random exposure to extremely loud motorcycle noise
This happened EIGHT DAYS AGO when I was enjoying a QUIET walk on a back street.

Out of the blue, this goddamn motorcyclist came down a side street and turned in front of me. I was like a deer caught in headlights...frozen...instead of using those precious seconds to press my hands to my ears.

I have heard the ringing loud in my left ear & some in my right ear, even when outside among other noises...where I never did before. It has been horrible at night when trying to sleep.

With 8 days past, is there any chance that this will subside, or did those 15 seconds of hell from some guy who gets off on making other people suffer with super loud noise mean the damage is permanent????

No way to answer unfortunately... give your ears a break so they have the best chance at recovery.

Good luck!

Grr!! It pisses me off every time motorcyclists do this! There are laws about the noise level allowed in most US states and yet they aren't enforced! The mean part of me hopes that these motorcyclists will get T in the name of justice but the good part of me just hopes they'll stop before it's too late for them or someone else.

@Quiet this happened to me today with a loud trash truck. I have had this occur a lot over the years. It takes me several days to lessen the head noise from the trauma. I would say it is temporary for you. Just try to take it easy on the ears for now.

How are you doing now?

"GET A MUFFLER!"
Everyone with a loud motorcycle is a bad person. Either they don't consider how the noise affects others. Or they are purposefully being loud to annoy others. Either way there is no excuse. I hope they all end up as stains on the highway.
