Hi,
I'm a little nervous about writing this as I don't want to tempt fate, but I promised myself that if my tinnitus ever went I'd write on here to hopefully give some hope to new sufferers.
Mine started in May for no known reason, I'd had a bath and got my ears wet but apparently that doesn't cause tinnitus. I then started the downward spiral of anxiety, no sleep, depression, despair. I had seen an ENT consultant and my hearing was within normal range. Things got worse so I went to see a private ENT and begged him for steroids, although I knew they probably would not help as I'd had T for about 8 weeks at this stage. They did bring the T down in volume a lot and after stopping the steroids the volume never went back to it's previous volume. Then in August I had a family holiday and things slowly started to improve from there. Today, I can only hear a very faint 'eeee' if I plug my ear. I can't hear it in bed or any other time. I'd say it's been like this for nearly 8 weeks and I'm just reaching the stage where I do not feel the need to keep plugging my ears to check if it's still there. My anxiety has gone completely now although I do worry about it coming back.
I wish I could give you all a reason why mine has gone so that you could try it, but I just want to let you know that it can go. I had read that it can go and Dr Nagler told people this often but I could never find evidence from someone who'd had it disappear, so I hope this can offer some of you some hope.
Good luck and take care guys.
Nic
