When I first started to get tinnitus I had tried to quit drinking alcohol and i think thats what caused it. Its been over a year now and I still have it. I don't get the thuping sounds and all that anymore which is good but i still get the constant buzzing/rininging sound. I also take Olanzapine medication which apparently you can get tinnitus from quitting it according to viddeos i saw on youtube, so maybe from taking it too long can also cause it. Either way i think im screws and will have to live with it for the rest of my life. Another thing is if i go a few days without drinking alcohol it becomes really loud to the point it annoys me and find it hard to sleep.
I have been to the Doctors twice. first time he said it may be was buildup, so he got me to get waxsol. but after a month of or two I still had it so i saw a different Doctor and he said was buildup shouldn't cause tinnitus like how i had and referred me to a head and neck outpatients thing, (i forgot what you call them) Anyway they sent me a letter and said I have been put on the waiting list, and they will contact me in 12-24 months, like wtf!
