Hows it going?

I've had a few tough months, I was prescribed 1 mg clonzapam by a specialist who failed to mention the dangers of this drug, I was then taken off it cold turkey by my doc as I had a job lined up and he wanted to get me onto something else. That was on the 25th Nov 2015

All hell broke loose, the worst time of my life and the hardest thing I have ever been through. I stopped taking the AD's I was prescribed after a couple of weeks as I was worried they could make things worse.

Now I am over the meds but my T is worse, much more reactive than it used to be and now I can hardly do anything with my ears flaring up.

I am seeing a Psychologist but I have my doughts what he is trying to do and I am going to see a natropath next week who says she has had some success treating tinnitus. I am taking 'ring stop' which I was taking before november as well.

I have been referred back to the specialist who prescribed the clonzapam but its been nearly 4 months and no word. I just feel things are getting worse, I can barely work, my marrage is about to fall apart, things are pretty bad.

If anybody has any advise or things to try please let me know.

Thanks, Jamie

Jamie.

Hi there,

I too have tinnitus (obviously!) and sympathise with what you're going through. I went to a tinnitus clinic a few days ago and they told me that the latest research suggests that everybody has tinnitus, but not all hear it. In other words your brain is constantly making these noises but different situations can make your mind in tune with hearing them. How do you find sleeping? Does playing some noise in the background distract you? Tinnitus is extremely distressing but we just have to live with it unfortunately. There is no guarantee that this will last forever, perhaps if you wish it hard enough one day you'll wake up and it will be gone. Good luck for the psychologist and naturopath, I hope you find something that works for you. These damn noises are excruciating! :)
