Good question. I only know that my T developed with high frequency hearing loss in my 40s which I assumed was from loud concerts and headphones, but maybe not. Looking back, I wish I was more protective of my hearing but I am more cautious now and use earplugs at loud concerts and reduced volume headphones.

Yeah, there's really no warnings about tinnitus, you only know about it when you get it...My doctor never said once you could get tinnitus from ear-infections, otherwise I could've prevented it..Thank you lack of awareness.

I am 69 and have no trouble hearing normal conversations and didnt realize I had hearing loss in my right ear.
