Ambulance Siren Caused a Tinnitus Spike — Am I Screwed Now?

What did CBT teach you?

I know how intrusive it can be. I have intrusive T. You don't need to convince me that intrusive T exists. I've lived with it for years. It doesn't make CBT any less useful for dealing with your irrational thoughts, though.
Irrational? What's irrational?

I have TMJ issues long before Tinnitus, but yes, the muffs aggravate my TMJ and yes TMJ issus can be handled with either a molded mouth guard from your dentist, a splint from your dentist, or surgery. Just massage your jaw bone every night and afterwards from using the muffs. The pain will subside....
TMJ and tinnitus, hyperacusis's have unknown cross overs. It's no coincidence all this crap interacts with one another.

Irrational? What's irrational?

If you had done CBT, you'd know the answer to that...
Here's a page that can help you identify irrational thoughts: https://psychcentral.com/lib/identifying-irrational-thoughts/

Look, I don't want to force you into CBT. Only you can decide that you want to give it a shot, and I trust you can find all kinds of excuses to not look into it seriously. We all can. This isn't something that can be done without your consent. If you want to give it a shot, do it. You have the biggest vested interest in your health, so consider taking charge. Sorry if it feels harsh, but I feel you need a bit of tough love/straight talk.

Good luck.

Happened again. :-(

Spike is beyond horrible. I don't know what to do. I see why people go postal on others. NO ONE CARES THAT THIS HAPPENS TO ME.

Has it calmed down?
My tinnitus is still horribly loud.

I wanted to read some research and treatment threads but it's too difficult to concentrate. Just so depressing. I have no hope at all. I know I will be dead in less than 5 years, one way or another. It honestly frightens me.
