Does it not piss you off that scientists have figured out how to make mice glow in the dark but they Haven't figured out how to stop the imaginary noise that keeps us up at night???
That's because it's easier to make mice glow in the dark. Tinnitus is very complex, with all kinds of things that trigger it, and many different ways that tinnitus expresses itself in people. Also, not much money in finding a cure. That will change in the next 10 or 20 years when the rate of tinnitus in the population reaches a critical point. Our everyday environment is simply a lot louder now than it was 20 or 30 years ago.
I totally agree! I was just poking fun As it would seem that one is easier than the other yet here millions of people are, still suffering. Whilst scientists dedicate money and time to seemingly useless projects.

Not enough people are suffering from severe or catastrophic tinnitus, though, that's why it's not worth the money to the powers that be to find a cure or at least a treatment that offers real relief.
I do wonder about the rationale behind some of the projects.
Look at all the money that will be made if millions of people have to take pills everyday to keep tinnitus at bay. Seems like they would be working harder
Ultimately, it comes down to profits and mass distribution. Pharm companies earn much more money from high blood pressure, high cholesterol, bronchial/asthma, anti-depressants, acid reflux, sleep and erectile dysfunction meds. Not enough people have severe, debilitating T and 9/10 people have at least one or more of the other conditions I just listed.
Not enough people over 10 mil and counting. I agree with Jeannie. There a huge golden egg waiting for a cure or
reasonable relief. Useless projects like trillions spent on fascist based wars that are unneeded.
They could cure this is one year with proper funding. The pharm. companies and others dont want a cure.
Post trauma treatments will also trump preventive detection/treatment. If you have Netflix, watch The Widowmaker. Stunning example of greed in the medical world.
