Do you guys ever have those mornings where you wake up and think 'wait... i don't hear it????'
Then boom... there it is.

Do you think that is habituation or does it really come and go for some people?
Seems like it's a little more annoying when it comes back, but man that was a wonderful little respite and reminds me how much better life can be without this ringing.

Honestly I have this most mornings. It's as if my brain does a hard reset overnight every night. Most days I wake up and it's almost silent and then after 2-5 mins as I gain consciousness it comes back.

It's kind of depressing if anything. I still hate that it's the first thought in my mind when I wake up, I miss my first thought being about the day ahead of me.

If I wake within 4-7 hours of deep sleep my T goes away for a day or two. If I oversleep that time period. t creeps back as I become more conscious. Sleep and brain chemicals play a part in my opinion.
GABA agonists are sleep related like sedatives. Prob why benzos calm T down.

I think we will also hear our T, but if / when we are properly habituated, we just don't give a fu*k... :)

I truly believe in habituation... but I can't really imagine simply not caring no matter what. I mean, even if the noise didn't give me anxiety, or didn't bother me, why would I not want it gone if I had the choice? As long as we can say, "All things being equal, I'd rather not have tinnitus" then you do care. It may not be high on your list of priorities anymore, but you do care.
