I find it super frustrating that I'm trying to warn people about loud environments and using ear protection when in bars or concerts and not listening to music super loud in headphones and EVERYONE seems to think they know better than me. It's like... HELLO you aren't invincible

I've told my rave and musician friends to wear earplugs so they won't end up like me but they seem to shrug it off.

Oh well, like @tinnitube said, it's human nature. In my native language, we have a saying that goes "Nasa huli ang pagsisisi" which roughly translates to "Regret always comes at the end."

Yes I do, especially when you try to explain to them how bad t is to live with. And yes they don't listen about protection either.

Yup all the time, headphone users that blast music. Do your ears ring when you take the headphones off?? Yea but it goes away, What if it dosent go away??

I was one of them

Arnt we all to some extent with noise induced T.

I met a guy today with 100% hearing loss in the left ear and 20% remaining in the right ear from shooting without hearing protection.
He still shoots without hearing protection!!!

I started to protect my ears, but it was to little to late.

Yup.

Quoting myself from another post here:
"I find that my friends are very disrespectful of my condition too. I recently celebrated my birthday and I had music playing in the background. They turned the volume up to pretty loud, we had to yell just to hear each other so I turned it down, not even that much. They really disliked this action, despite knowing very well why I did it (They known about my ears for years). I had to turn the volume down throughout my entire party because they were always turning it up. They were testing me, and occasionally they say things like like "Get over yourself". This pisses me so badly off that I wish them a lifetime with tormenting T."

Yes, nobody listens, but sometimes tinnitus is just bad luck. Not everyone that gets noise induced hearing loss gets tinnitus and hyperacusis, and only a small minority get intrusive tinnitus.

This is annoying when they do that. I really love music but unless you're dancing I don't see the point of putting it loud to the point that you have trouble having conversation... 70 dB is well enough in most case, more is only good for dancefloor

I agree...

With all the people going to many concerts and clubs all the time and they will end up having nothing wrong with ears or whatsoever...

To me I really feel this is bad luck ! Why did I get this S*** ? Everyday I am asking myself this question...

Yea, same, literally one in a million. Make you ponder your life purpose though.

Anything other that living day-by-day is quite impossible for me...

Because I also have the question in my head : "What would I do if my T and H get worse ???"

For me it's "what would I be doing if I didnt have T"

I tried too turn it into a positive and do the things I thought I might be doing if things were less positive, hhmmmmm....

I would find new friends. Absolutely no empathy from them whatsoever.
