Anyone with Tinnitus in One Ear (Due to Acoustic Trauma), Get Tinnitus in The Other Ear Months Later

For the past couple of days, I think I have been hearing T in what used to be my good ear. That ear has never had an acoustic trauma. Could it be that after months of T, the brain makes one hear it in both ears? Or is it the case that only my brain does that?

This is pretty standard behaviour for tinnitus. When it's new, it's often more erratic and volatile as well.

My advice is to stop monitoring and listening for other sounds. Rest your ears over the next year and get on with your life. It will even out more over time and then you'll stop worrying about it.

My T changed ears a few times already.

I've had it in my left for 3.half years now. Never changed over.

I think someone mentioned centralization before. That is why I now wonder if I ever really had it in the other ear. Mine is not from noise exposure though. This second round has been loud T (same side as initial) with no let up.

In my case the other way around. When it started it was both ears with left being predominant and louder. Eventually, and I dont know how long, T in right stopped and in left got down to what I now consider a baseline.

Though month after onset I had some virosis and my right ear was full and it seemed like T switched from left to right at that moment. When sickness went away it went back to left. Weird, huh? I think it was always in left but given that right was stuck brain perceived it differently or something.

That's how mine was. Started really loud in my right ear which is the one with pressure. Then after about 3 months started to move around. It typically is never in both though, unless I drink a lot of caffeine or alcohol.
