Anyone's Tinnitus So High-Pitched It's Almost Painful... Like Screeching?

or that awful dog whistle that hurts dogs ears?
Yes, here as well. Cuts through everything. Unmaskable.
Only thing which gives little bit relief, is cricket sounds.
Agree to @tomm. Valium lowers it dramatically. If possible, would have a valium infusion everyday.
But of course this is no option.

My tinnitus is usually right around the 8khz mark but when it ramps up really badly I do get it in the ultra high frequencies where it makes me wince and my eyes water. It does suck but to be honest I prefer it to the occassional lower tones which induce much more fear in me.

I think it's because I've had higher pitched tinnitus for much longer.

I've got very high pitched cricket sounds in both and a lower pitch in one. I find I can tune out the high pitches during the day when I'm distracted by other sounds but it is nerve racking at night even with lots of brown noise. The low pitch seems to be more distracting during the day, can't say why.

that's the same with me, i have big problems at night time trying to sleep. i use music and rain sound and white noise in background, but i can't seem to habituate properly.

I have had an incredibly high pitched tinnitus sound in both ears since yesterday morning as well, it almost feels like ultrasound in that I barely hear it but instead feel it as a piercing feeling in my ears. Ironically enough, it seems to decrease in intensity when there are no sounds around me and increase when there are sounds. I also noticed that short sounds in particular seem to make it worse, it feels kinda like a noise gate in my ears when I hear short sounds.

I haven't been exposed to any loud sounds without hearing protection lately, so I have no idea where I have got this from. Should I just try to wait and see if it improves? Is tinnitus at all affected by the hearing spectrum, as in, would noises above the hearing range fade away when you can't hear those frequencies anymore or is it possible to have tinnitus sounds above the range you're able to hear?

I get the super high pitches and the shushing. I'd rather have the shushing. I have a really hard time masking the high pitches especially in the middle of the night.
