You basically figured it out yourself why it isn't a good idea for a "2/10" to be reading about tinnitus online. You will mostly find people who are doing bad and spreading that doom and gloom, because, well, that's how some of our lives are with tinnitus. Sometimes it's hard to be positive when one gets very little or no relief from their truly intrusive tinnitus / other ear issues.
Reading these discussions, you risk exacerbating your anxiety further. They don't give you a balanced view of what tinnitus is outside the internet.
It's difficult to accept the fact that tinnitus is unpredictable, and future outlook is uncertain. But so is life, any of our lives could end tomorrow, so the only thing we can do is live today as if it were our last.
If you take care of your ears, avoid exposure to loud noises and research your medications (ototoxicity in mind), you minimize your chances of tinnitus becoming worse down the line.
That said, your tinnitus is still in the acute phase. Give yourself some time with it. Try not to listen and analyze it all day, every day. Keep busy. If after some time you still feel stuck with it, look into cognitive behavioral therapy.
Best wishes to you.
