Hi everyone,

I have worked hard all my life and finally I can afford my dream car Audi R8 V8.
My concern is that would it be too loud inside? My tinnitus is extremely reactive to loud noises.

I even now wear ear plugs when driving. Can any one please help?

There is one study done... when I google "audi noise level DB " ...one study came up and showed how loud cars are... Audi R8 was at number 2!!

Thanks in advance.

Wear ear plugs, you will be fine! It's not going to be louder than 80-85db max, even when accelerating, new cars are well insulated and made to be quiet inside, it's not like you are buying a chopper or an old muscle car. I drive a sports car and it's not that loud especially with ear protection.

I think to some degree regarding noise we are getting to be on the side of ridiculous, myself included.

You will be fine with ear plugs bro, don't let T ruin you getting your dream car, I drive a Tommi makinin evo and that can be a bit loud when your revving right out to 8,000 rpm!

Nice!

It is not going to be so high pitched anyway. I wouldn't worry too much and floor it :D Perhaps opt for the V10 for extra ear blasting purposes :p I think the V8 is also found in the RS4? that thing makes sort of a growly rumble. Shouldnt be a problem.

My BF had one. They are loud but also the suspension is rock hard and makes the passenger feel nauseous (or maybe that was just his driving!) the latter is obvs nothing to do with tinnitus but just sayin' !
