Autifony Therapeutics Phase II Study for AUT00063, for the Treatment of Hearing Loss and Tinnitus

There have been a few posts on this thread suggesting how one might 'blag' onto the trial despite not meeting the criteria. I'm not sure how serious people are (hard to 'get' tone of voice in an email). But can I respectfully suggest that however c*** we may feel, such action could mess things up for the long term viability of the drug going to market eventually and maybe helping a vast number of us sufferers. If you want to prove you can pole vault you start low and gradually increase the height. That's what drugs companies have to do. Otherwise they won't get the investment to progress the trials further.

Plus, in my experience they sometimes repeat frequencies/volumes to double check the thresholds. I don't think it would necessarily be that easy to fake it consistently enough if they have a halfway decent audiologist. And, of course, lying is bad karma.

Im not on this forum so much anymore, because i think too much on my T. when searching this board all day long.

Because of that, i'm not really up-to-date on the Phase-1 trial. did it show any success results released to the public? does any know about that? :)

yeah yeah it was a success - we're into phase 2 now.

Hello can someone tell me if the autofony trials had some success on ppl on this thread (don't really want to read another entire thread..) ? Thank you :)

The phase 2 trials hasnt begun yet. There has only been a phase 1 trial so far and in that they only tested the safety of the drug on people without T.

Ok then and if i've fully understand you're legitable for the trials only if you have hearing loss ?

No, as far as we know you don't have to have a measurable hearing loss. I don't think it's a disqualifying factor either. You just have to have medically documented tinnitus. What that means is that they will want records from whatever medical provider you have seen (ENT, GP, Audiologist) who officially said "yep you have tinnitus." That way, they will know that you have had it between 6 and 18months.

its mentioned on the clinical trial details:

Hearing loss (Pure Tone Average (of thresholds at 250, 500, 1000, 2000 and 4000Hz) >20 and <60 dB Hearing Loss

I emailed Autifony last week to see if they would provide any additional information. Here is what I received today from them:

Thank you for your email and your interest in Autifony's clinical trial with AUT00063 in subjective tinnitus. As I am sure you will know, the clinical evaluation of any new drug proceeds in a stepwise manner, and at each step the safety and efficacy of the new drug must be thoroughly evaluated. We are just at the beginning of that process for AUT00063, and it is still too early to predict the road ahead. However, at Autifony we fully appreciate the need for an effective treatment for people suffering with tinnitus, and hope the wait will not have to be long!

There was an inside info leaked by one of the of members here that people benefited from the drug.
No, there was not.

Maybe you think of what attheedgeofscience said. He said that they have tested the drug on some people with T but he never said that anyone had benefit from it or not. He didnt even have a proper source to prove his statement. It's only hearsay.

I stand corrected then it must be my mind and the wishful thinking playing tricks

From my audiologist:

You don't fit the criteria given, as that is describing somebody with a mild to moderate loss across the whole spectrum.

No AUT00063 for me then :( I'm really perplexed as to why hearing loss across the whole frequency spectrum is an inclusion criteria. Anyone?

Arent Autifony targeting hearing loss as well? This trial maybe is a 2 birds 1 stone kinda deal?

Hi Steve, can you elaborate on who told you this (did you go to an Autifony recruiter?) and what exactly did he/she tell you ? Also are you in UK ?
